Fall Leaves and Acorns Wreath Cupcakes

I thought I’d share some photos of a wreath made of cupcakes my sister and I made over the Thanksgiving weekend.
The leaves are made out of green milk chocolate and butterscotch chips melted and painted on the back of clean maple leaves for the detail. Some fell apart because they were painted on too thin, but I think it helped make them look more realistic like crunchy stepped on leaves.
The acorns are made of caramel squares heated up in the microwave and rounded out by hand. They are then dipped in melted chocolate and then chocolate sprinkles.
This idea was taken from the Hello, Cupcake book. There are so many ideas to try from it still and I cannot wait to share more for the holidays!

Thanksgiving “Stuffed Turkey” Cupcakes

In honor of the upcoming holiday, I wanted to share some cupcakes my sister and I made last Thanksgiving. They are “stuffed turkeys”, and we took this idea from the What’s New, Cupcake? book. We improvised the large turkey using a large Wilton cupcake pan and followed as much of the instructions that applied.
The basic ingredients are soft caramels, wheat sticks, corn flakes, green food coloring, and green sprinkles. The mound is frosting, but we used large marshmallows cut in half at an angle to stay up. The large cupcake did not need any assistance staying up.
I am not sure what we plan on doing this year, but I know we plan on doing something great for Christmas! I love how the holidays require a lot of baking and I will have time off work to dedicate to this. Let me know what you are baking this year for the holidays.

School of Fish and Birthday Cake Cupcakes

Minnows for the last day of one of my coworkers with the last name Nimmo. She loved them!

Birthday Cake made out of 34 cupcakes! I made these for our administrative teams monthly meeting and to celebrate the birthdays from the 2nd quarter.

Two projects in one night! I cannot believe it! I am very proud of myself and think both creations came out great. Simple vanilla cake and buttercream, but I went all out with the decorations. They were a huge hit at work too!

The cupcake inspiration came from the Hello Cupcake and What’s New, Cupcake books. They’ve definitely provided me with a ton of inspiration and have made decorating really easy.
