6 Items to List on Poshmark

I try to edit my closet throughout the year, but the beginning of the year feels like a great time to clean out all the excess and unworn items in my closet. After all, a new year is the opportunity for a new you. My favorite place to sell has been on Poshmark and if you are in the mood to start cleaning out your closet, but don’t know where to start, here are 6 items you can get rid of now! Your closet and wallet will thank you. If you haven’t downloaded the app, get it here and use my referral code HAEWR for $10 credit to use on your next purchase since you’ll have made plenty of room to treat yourself with after selling your unworn items!
Here are 6 items you can get rid of from your closet now:
1. The Party Dress: The dress you bought on sale to wear to a Holiday or New Year’s Eve Party, but ended up not wearing because it was too cold or because you stayed home. Let it go so it can actually be worn by someone else to a wedding, bachelorette party or for Girls Night Out.
BCBG MaxAzria Merlot Dress: Shop hereDVF  Treenie Metallic Dress: Shop here
2. Shoes that Don’t Fit: I don’t believe I am the only one guilty of buying designer shoes just because the price was right. Instead of letting your bad investment collect dust in your closet, list them to buy shoes that actually fit! Bonus points if they have a dust bag or their original box!

Jimmy Choo d’Orsay Champagne Heels: Shop here

3. Clothes that Don’t Fit: It should go without saying that buying any clothes that are not your size will result in regret, even if it is a designer item. To remove the most bulk from your closet, try listing jackets, coats or sweaters you are not wearing anymore so they can sell quickly for the current season.

Marc Jacobs Coat: Shop here
4. Accessories: When I love something, I might buy it in every color if I get the chance, and that is really easy to do with accessories. I start thinking that the pieces I buy will become part of my “uniform,” but the idea doesn’t go as planned and I end up sticking to one color and forgetting about the rest. Sell the accessories you have been holding on to, but haven’t worn, and make room for different pieces.

Forever 21 Glitter Scarf: Shop Silver version hereForever 21 Glitter Scarf : Shop Black version here5.  An Item That is New with Tags: I have definitely been guilty of buying something with the intention to use it, and later changing my mind and being unable to return it. I am pretty sure I am not the only one guilty of having something hang around in my closet only because it is still brand new. If something has been in your closet with tags on it for more than 3 months, it might be time to list it. Seller Tip: When listing an item New With tags, make sure to select Yes, but don’t hit the New With Tags Retail button. New With Tags Retail is meant to identify items that are from a wholesaler and items were never tagged like typical stores do.

Kate Spade Bubble Over Coin Purse: Shop here6. Jewelry: If a statement necklace or pair of earrings you received over the holidays doesn’t fit your style, sell it instead of letting it get scratched up in your jewelry box. Or if you have jewelry from an ex boyfriend, it might be easier to part with that jewelry in exchange for some extra cash. The best thing about these items is that they tend to be one size fits all, like accessories, which is great for getting more traffic to your closet!
Kate Spade Tres Chic Earrings: Shop here
After you have some of the these items up on the app, share share share and you’ll be making some extra cash in no time. I hope you this list is helpful in getting you started on Poshmark, or helpful in identifying what to list next. I would love to see your closet and what you’ve listed so I can share your items, so please tag me @willbakeforshoe on the app or share your closet link in a comment for this post!

I’ll be sharing more Poshmark tips in the next few months, so make sure to follow me on Bloglovin and feel free to ask me any questions about the app!

Posh Fest 2014

Posh Fest 2015 is this weekend and I wanted to look back at last year’s event before sharing photos from this year. What better wait to get excited about the conference than by getting a better idea of what to expect? I hope you’ll say hi if you see me there. Here are some photos I took (switching between my phone and camera) from last year’s event.

Business cards from Moo. I ordered a bunch and include one in every sale I package.

The style panel from last year. So glad to see Jennifer from Just Add Glam in her amazing heels!

Benefit sponsored and provided makeuppers and some goodies in our swag bags.

Panels composed of real users on the app sharing tips and tricks and how they take sales (or shopping) to the next level.
I didn’t attend the party that night, but I think it helped me wake up early to catch the bus ride down to Menlo Park to visit Poshmark HQ.

I learned so much since then and I feel I should create a few tutorial posts on navigating the app. A lot of new features have rolled out and I have met so many people through the app that I finally had a chance to meet in real life.

Of course, Posh Fest couldn’t be complete without a cool parting gift and here is a look at what we all received for attending.
Definitely worth attending if you are ever on the fence about buying a ticket. The tips you learn make it easy to make enough in sales to cover your ticket cost. And of course, travel costs can be cut if you room with your PFF!
Look out for a new series of Poshmark tips and of course, photos from this year’s conference coming soon to the blog.

Black Glitter #tailoredtoyou

Diane Von Furstenberg Zarita Black Lace Dress | Diane Von Furstenberg Rowan Peep-Toe Heel | Black Saint Laurent Cassandre Tassel Clutch Bag | Amrita Singh Pearl Enamel Cuff | Too Faced Glitter Glaze Sparkling Shadow TopcoatThis set is something I came up with on Friday after spending most of my day with Polyvore testing a new app/feature that they have come up with and to get to know more about the company. I was inspired by cuff I received c/o Iristocracy. I recently found the black lace dress via ThredUp, so I am excited to pair this exact dress with the bracelet. I think it will be a fun look to wear for New Year’s Eve.
What do you think of this set? Should I feature more on the blog for some inspiration to your outfits? You can also find my other sets on my Polyvore account willbakeforshoes.

Getting Intimate with ThirdLove

This post was sponsored by ThirdLove. All opinions expressed are my own.
When I blog about clothes, I focus on what is on the outside. I don’t talk about underwear; much less share it on my blog. This post is going to be slightly revealing (ha!), but I do own a lot of underwear and find it to be as addicting as shopping for clothes. This is not at all surprising since the first part of getting ready in the morning for me is selecting my underwear and I am probably not alone in believing it sets the foundation for the rest one’s outfit.
I will admit that most, if not all, of my panties are from Victoria’s Secret. I grew up buying from American Eagle, Target and at one point from Macy’s, but I developed my mom’s custom of shopping at Victoria’s Secret for bras and panties, especially during their Semi-Annual Sale. So of course, when I discovered ThirdLove a couple of weeks ago, I was a little skeptical from buying underwear there at first. My introduction to them was at a party hosted by LE TOTE and one of ThirdLove’s Reps showed me how to make a rose with one of their panties. I downloaded the app, and began browsing their items and I was blown away with how cute their items were!
It had been awhile since I had a fitting, so before I started throwing things into my cart, I decided to use the app to help me measure myself. I wore a non-padded bra and a camisole over it before I proceeded to take some photos to help me measure my bust. My apartment does not have great mirrors, so I had Armando move our $5 target mirror to the kitchen since that is where we have the best light, and had him hold the mirror while I took my photos. (I initially tried having him take my photos, but I found this to be extremely challenging – for once I had to take my own photos!) It was very comical at first listening to the instructions, but I was really surprised at the end with how accurate the measuring feature of the app was! The site offers 1/2 cup sizes, which was another reason I wanted to measure myself in case I fell into one of those.
Once I confirmed my size, I proceeded to shop through the app. It was a struggle picking out one bra since you could customize the color of the trim of most of their styles, but I stuck to my choice of this ivory lace balconet bra and matching lace bikini. Both pieces are unlike anything I currently owned, and I liked how dainty they looked. I always pick black, so I was a little daring going with the ivory set.The description on the app also sold me convincing me every woman needs to own french-style lace bra and although I liked the ivory lace with the black trim, I couldn’t resist the all ivory lace.
The items arrived in a white box,  individually wrapped in plastic bags, and with blue tissue paper and a dust bag. I would prefer each item not being wrapped in plastic from a sustainable point of view. I tried on the set and loved how soft the material felt. I felt the bra could also do its job of providing support despite looking delicate. I definitely was impressed with the quality. Their price point is pretty comparable to department stores with the balconet bra running at $64 and these panties being $25. Other bras from ThirdLove start at $45 while panties start at $10. Signing up for email updates also provides discount codes good for a weekend on a certain collection.  Overall, my experience shopping on the app was great and I am looking into trying out on of their t-shirt bras for everyday use.
You can shop ThirdLove lingerie through their website or by downloading the app. Signing up gives you $10 for your first purchase, but you can get $20 on your first bra purchase if you use my referral link here.

Live from SF! Urban Glam Posh Party

Earlier this week, I attended Poshmark’s first live party of 2014 in SF. This party was meant to kick-off their next cross-country tour and was held at Chambers.

Not only was Poshmark kicking off a tour, but it is also celebrating a major win this week by being one of the first e-commerce sites to work with USPS to negotiate better flat rate shipping for users. Before this announcement, shipping for any order less than $25 would be $6.99, while orders over $25 would be only $4.99. Now all orders ship for $4.99 as long as it is 4lbs or less. This news and the latest app update, gave everyone even more reason to celebrate.

I hung out with my amazing blogger friends (Chelsea Pearl and Jessica Valdez) and met some new people. I was really happy to meet a fellow East Bay Posher in real life! She recognized me from the app because she followed my closet and I gave her a Host Pick when I hosted my first Posh Party on the app. I have always heard of these types of meetings happening between people in the app, and it was so cool actually experiencing it. Her username is concept and you can shop her closet here.

The party featured its usual fun photo booth, but mani’s were also being done during the party by Pams & Kin. I loved the cute hangers being painted, and I would have gotten a mani if I had the patience to stay in line, but I was having too much fun catching up with the ladies at Poshmark and my SF blogger friends.

The party had some great co-hosts, including Caity from Moi Contre La Vie and Kate of The Fancy Pants Report. They are both stellar people and amazing bloggers, so I highly recommend checking their blogs out! The party had a great turnout and the lounge was packed for most of the night. Luckily there was a patio area where some of us stepped away to talk, and of course, take pictures! Kat (KatwalkSF), Caity, and I posed by the pool and spent the rest of night talking to our other blogger friends.

I had a blast and these are just a few of the many snapshots of the night. Special thanks to my BF Armando for coming out to the event to take amazing photos and for understanding my obsession with the app!
