40 Days of DVF: Day 30

Pink and Black Keena Dress Diane von Furstenberg | Gold Necklace Forever 21 | Green Clutch Banana Republic | Lorissa Spiked Heels Sam EdelmanTGIF! I can’t believe I only have 10 more days until my blog series is complete! I am so proud of myself for making it this far and for Armando being patient with me.
Today is typically every couples date night, and this outfit is something I would wear for a dinner downtown or to a more upscale bar. Out of all the dresses I’ve shared during this series, this dress is one of Armando’s favorites as he likes how it flatters my curves. The sleeves are also slightly see-through and the back shows some skin, but it is not overtly revealing. I am showing a lot of leg, so the long sleeves and high-neck balances that out.
This dress was another one of my Crossroads Trading Co. finds, this time from the one located on Blossom Hill Road in San Jose. It was my first time visiting that Crossroads and I definitely was amazed with how big it was. I walked away with a lot of goodies – including the dress I wore for my first post in this blog series. I love how I can always find something at Crossroads, whether it is for work or for something a little more special.
Hope you enjoy this look and enjoy the last 10 I plan on sharing! Until tomorrow,

40 Days of DVF: Day 29

Black Demeta Dress Diane von Furstenberg (Buy here) | Belt H&M, Silver Wing Cuff  Forever 21 | Black Quilted Clutch Forever 21 (Buy here) | Silver Logan d’Orsay Heels Jimmy Choo | Jackie Ohh Sunglases  Ray-Bans
I’ve been sharing so many colorful outfits during this series that U have not had a chance to share any of the black dresses in my DVF collection. With only 11 days left, I am not sure I’ll be able to wear every piece, but I hope I can share a few more of my favorites. This dress was originally an eBay find, but I quickly discovered I own too many black dresses and this one never was worn after I purchased it.
Working on this series has pushed me to actually wear pieces I normally wouldn’t wear either because I am saving for a special occasion or because I don’t want it to rip/tear/or get stained. Sometimes my clothes are like a work of art and I sometimes just want them to be displayed. Having to try and wear everything again after not seeing something on myself for awhile has helped me determined what I should keep and what I should let go of.
This dress is one of those items I need to let go of, and while I like how it looks on, I have way too many black dresses (especially DVF black dresses.) Don’t get me wrong, I love the ruffle and pleated details on this clasic sheath, but it is also too cute to not be worn! It is listed on my closet on Poshmark in case you want to get your hands on it and can actually wear it. I have it styled with a clutch I also have listed for sale. I wanted to style this dress for a dinner date because of its classic shape with modern twists. Although I did not go out for dinner in this, (I stayed in to enjoy a yummy dinner made by Armando), this dress could work from going to a day at the office with different shoes and accessories to a romantic night out. I am all about versatile pieces and nothing is more versatile than a little black dress.
Thanks for checking out today’s post. See you tomorrow for Day 30!

40 Days of DVF: Day 2

Purple Silk Top Diane von Furstenberg (Buy here) | Black Tulle Skirt Forever 21 | Black Ulltra Pumps Steve Madden | Purple Flower Ring Wet Seal | Earrings GiftedDay 2 of my 40 Days of DVF series and I decided to go for a romantic, date night look for Friday. It has been hot these past few days in the Bay Area, but this outfit is from early in April after I had my hair braided at the Beauty Company during Sasha Mak’s trunk show. I wanted a romantic look to compliment my braids and decided to tuck in this beautiful DVF purple top with my favorite tulle skirt from Forever 21. I have slowly let go of a lot of clothes from Forever 21, but this skirt is one I intend on keeping it around for a long time. This outfit is perfect for date night, although with the current heat wave I would not be wearing the tights. I don’t typically style my hair differently either, but this hairstyle is something I definitely want to try out again.
Can’t wait to share my next DVF post for Day 3! Until next time,Brandy| BLOGLOVIN | FACEBOOK |  INSTAGRAM |TUMBLR | TWITTER |

Polka Dots

Teal Catalina Top Diane von Furstenberg, Polka Dot Skirt KTR Collection (Shop other skirts here), The Bossi Camera Bag THEIT (Buy here), Red Suede Ulltra Heels Steve Madden, Pearl Chain Necklace Wet SealPolka Dots! Who doesn’t love Polka Dots? They are a style staple for Minnie Mouse and I feel like I am channeling her style a bit. They have not gone out of style for her, and I am completely in love with this skirt that I purchased from my blogger bud KT of KTRStyle. She is an insanely talented blogger/designer and I definitely recommend checking out the items she has for sale as well as staying updated as to when she begins taking custom orders again.
I thought the black and white print would go best with a pop of color and tucked in my silk Diane von Furstenberg that I found at Crossroads. The necklace is a modern take on a pearl necklace, but I love how it compliments the polka dots on the skirt. The red shoes and lips felt like the perfect compliment to the teal, and the colors really pop!
I wore this cute little number to a pre-party for the upcoming soft launch of the app Stylematic now available on iTunes. I was accompanied by none other than my handsome photographer, Armando, and we made a date out of it. We dressed up, grabbed some dinner, then headed to the party. I’ll be sharing photos of the party and the official release party/fashion show in me next posts.
I feel like this month is flying by, and I almost forgot to mention that my blog celebrated it’s 2nd birthday during the 2nd week of the month. Yay! I am so happy I am still writing even after all this time and I can’t wait to continue to share my outfits and cupcake creations with you all. Thanks for the continuous support and hopefully you’ll stick around to watch me and the blog continue to develop.
Last week also marked 2 years since I was hired to the office I currently work at. I’ve been there a lot longer than that since I was a student intern, but it was my first real job since graduating and I am amazed at how much has changed from my first day as a temp worker. Some people have left and new people have come on board, but the one thing that has not changed is that I like going into work everyday. I feel I am really lucky not only because I stumbled onto this job as a recent grad, but because it reminds me of a close-knit family. For that I am extremely grateful.
Hope you had a great start to the week and I look forward to sharing the next posts featuring Stylematic!

A Date by the Pier

Armando and I made a date to together in San Francisco last Monday. We both had the day off and decided to walk around near Pier 39. We passed by all the shops and street performers and discovered the Maritime National Museum at the Hyde Street Pier. Admission was free that day so we toured the ships docked as part of the museum. Afterwards, we made our way to Ghiradelli Square to split an ice cream sundae. For lunch,we had clam chowder, calamari, and crab cakes at a restaurant along Fisherman’s Wharf.

Once we made it back to Pier 39, we walked in and reached the carousel. I originally thought my outfit photo should be taken with the ocean in the background, but the colors of the carousel worked with my outfit really well! It also looked fun which is the look I was going for when I was getting dressed this morning. I was really happy about being able to spend time with the man behind the lens. It isn’t everyday that we get to hang out and not worry about work/school. We had a blast together and he was dressed cute too but he is a little camera shy and doesn’t let me take his outfit photo…yet.
Hope you all had a fun weekend and until next time,Brandy| BLOGLOVIN | FACEBOOK |  INSTAGRAM |TUMBLR | TWITTER |

Holiday Red

Black Princess Coat Steve Madden | Red Basuto Dress Diane Von Furstenberg | Rhinestone and Chain Bracelet Forever 21 | Silver Sederaby d’Orsay Heels Manolo Blahnik It is time for the Holiday Reds in your closet to come out for the parties and dinners happening this month. Jennifer from Just Add Glam invited me and a couple of bloggers to a holiday event she was hosting in Marin. I dressed up in this Diane Von Furstenberg dress and invited my arm candy aka Armando to “Meet Me Under the Mistletoe.” Armando and I had a blast on this date. We took our photos in a booth, won gifts in a raffle, and even had our tarot cards read! And we ate yummy mini bundt cakes from Nothing Bundt Cake. The best part was hanging out not only with Armando, but also with my blogger friends! We were the loudest group during the whole event and we were joking and laughing the whole time (and it was a dry party!)
I went to a flower shop to buy some mistletoe earlier that day, but they did not have any in stock yet. I tried a Christmas tree lot later that evening and still nothing. (It’s almost Christmas, these places need to step it up pronto!) Instead I came out of the flower shop with the red Poinsettia flowers. Back home, my mom will buy a big pot of Poinsettias around the holidays, so to me these flowers really do say Christmas and are part of my family’s tradition. I put them in the center of our meeting table to spread some holiday cheer in the office after using them in my outfit shoot.
I painted my nails with the Dimepiece silver nail polish by Floss Gloss. I’ve tried it before when I’ve had a mani/pedi at Beauty Company and love how it reminds me of the glitter on Christmas ornaments. I never would paint my nails before and it is now something I don’t mind trying on my own. All my money would be directed to clothes but I like that I’ve discovered a beauty product that makes a statement and is inexpensive. I should note I am not getting paid for sharing this product, but it is something I genuinely love. Who doesn’t want sparkle in their day-to-day life?
Hope that you are having fun dressing up for your holiday parties! My office will be having is Holiday Party this week and I am already planning my outfit.
Until next time,
