40 Days of DVF: Day 7

Trench Coat Banana Republic Factory Store | Green and Purple Wrap New Jeanne Two Wrap Dress  Diane von Furstenberg |  Pen Necklace Kate Spade | Bone Patent Heels Christian Louboutin | Ruffle Satchel Steve Madden Another wrap dress makes its way on my journey for 40 Days of DVF.
I genuinely love wrap dress and fell like everyone should have at least one in their closet. I find it to be very flattering on my pear-shaped figure, but it makes any body-type look amazing. I was attracted to the purple and green pattern and actually found this dress on eBay. Same goes for the shoes. I love that I have found some quality investment pieces on there and for a fraction of what I would have paid if I bought them brand new. The necklace is an interesting piece I found at Crossroads Trading Co. 2 months ago and it is actually a pen. It reminds me a little of the necklace that Joan wears in Mad Men. The bright patterned, form-fitting dress is also probably something her character would wear, so all I am missing is the red hair. (Halloween costume idea?)
Tomorrow is Bike to Work Day. I’ll be sharing an outfit I’d bike with, so stay tuned for Day 8 of DVF.Brandy| BLOGLOVIN | FACEBOOK |  INSTAGRAM |TUMBLR | TWITTER |

I am glad I am posting this festive print wrap dress today. It is a reprint from DVF’s vintage collection and her name is Jilda. Green and navy have been my favorite colors lately so I am glad I found a dress that combined both colors in a fun pattern. I don’t understand the meaning of the “Y” on the dress, but it also reminded me of someone throwing their hands in the air. I think that is appropriate today since it is meant to be a day to celebrate. If only my panda necklace had its arms in the air…
Speaking of celebration, I made some yummy Margarita cupcakes for today. I will have to post the recipe once my 40 Days of DVF blog series is over. I plan to share a photo via Instagram later today, so be sure to check it out.
Hope you are enjoying the series so far and stay tuned for Day 6.Brandy| BLOGLOVIN | FACEBOOK |  INSTAGRAM |TUMBLR | TWITTER |

40 Days of DVF: Day 4

Black and White Judy Wrap Dress Diane von Furstenberg (Buy here) | Teal Pumps Giuseppe Zanotti | Nude Satchel JUSTFAB! | Silver Ring Crush | Koi Bracelet Forever 21Day 4 of my 40 Days of DVF blog series features an abstract black and white print wrap dress named Judy. I love wearing wrap dresses to work, although they can be worn for just about any occasion. I found this dress and the teal pumps at Crossroads Trading Co. I feel like I have good luck when it comes to thrifting since the heels looked like they had never been worn. I got them at an insane price too so I could not pass them up. I paired the teal pumps and koi bracelet to add a pop of color to my black and white dress. The abstract print on the dress looks like splattered paint, but it also made me think of water on a window pane which inspired me to add the koi bracelet.
Hope you are having a fun Sunday and, if you are in the Bay Area, are enjoying the cooler weather after our mini heat wave. Until next time,

40 Days of DVF: Day 3

Silk Blue and Navy Print Top Diane von Furstenberg (here) | Pants Diane von Furstenberg | Navy Ulltra Heels Steve Madden | Nude Satchel JustFAB! | Ring CrushDay 3 of my adventure with DVF. I decided to share an outfit with a fun, tropical print paired with a pleated pair of trousers. I initially had the top paired with a pencil skirt, but sometimes I need to change into pants if I plan on going on campus. I leave a pair of shoes in my cubicle to change into in case I am wearing heels or open toe shoes.
Hope you are having a great weekend and I can’t wait to share my first DVF post in this series with a wrap dress.

40 Days of DVF: Day 1

Trench Coat Banana Republic Factory Store | Blue Faux Wrap Dress Diane von Furstenberg | Sunglasses Diane von Furstenberg | Satchel JUSTFAB! | Bangles Coach | Belt Vintage | Fox Ring Crossroads Trading Co. | Nude Ulltra Pumps Steve MaddenIn honor of Diane von Furstenberg’s 40th anniversary of the iconic wrap dress, I decided to share my love of the designer’s work with my own personal collection and style 40 different outfits with at least one DVF piece for the next 40 days. It’s a big undertaking for my part since I don’t blog everyday (and don’t own 40 wrap dresses), but I love DVF and want to share my own journey with her pieces.
This first outfit is from earlier last month when I attended Poshmark’s Live Party in SF. I found the dress via Crossroads Trading Co. and I was drawn to the classic silhouette and fun pattern. I kept my accessories neutral so that the dress could stand out on its own. I love how chic it looks with a trench coat and it can stand on its own without a jacket.
It is safe to say since I’ll be sharing an outfit everyday my posts will be shorter than usual. Hope you enjoy my next DVF look.

Laser Show

Grey Cardigan Banana Republic, Printed Top Theory, Bandage Skirt Forever 21, Necklace  Rented via RocksBox, Mint Flats Dolce Vita, Nude Satchel JustFAB!Last Tuesday I celebrated my one year anniversary for my current job position, and this was my outfit for the day. There was a laser safety vendor fair on campus that I was scheduled to take photos at for work, so I decided to wear this Theory top in honor of the event. The print made me think of lasers, especially with the pops of neon colors. I tried to bring that out more with the colorful bangles and asymetrical lines of the bandage skirt.
This theme of lines carried over to my main accessory of the day, which is the simple necklace I had on. It is a rental from RocksBox, and I don’t think I would have picked this out for myself. I tend to like big statement necklaces, but this piece was unexpectedly perfect for this outfit and it did not compete with my new lip color. I have been looking for a pink lipstick and love how this one feels when it is applied. It is Givenchy Le Rouge205 Vibrant Fuschia and actually lasted for a long time before I needed to reapply. (I don’t get any commission for talking about this lipstick, but I just had to share my latest beauty find and how much I like it!)
This outfit transitioned from work to happy hour at a nearby bar and I was glad to celebrate my anniversary with my team. There are definitely ups and downs working with this eclectic bunch of people, as with most jobs, and some days make me question why I am not looking for a job related to my interests. And then I remember I am actually very happy where I am at. I love the work environment I am in and the people I work with. I find it tough imagining myself leaving when it feels so comfortable, but I know it will happen someday. In the meantime, I plan on enjoying the time I do spent here and resolve to keep challenging myself.
Hope you had a great start to your week!
