Bandage Dress

Since the weather change I feel like my nose has been acting up from all the fresh pollen in the air. Add that to some stress at work and I’ve begun to feel a little under the weather.
The chilly weather influenced today’s outfit. I decided to wear an everyday dress that I could layer a classic pair of black tights underneath. Afterwards everything else fell into place. I am wearing blacks and grey again, but at least there is a small pop of color with the teal on the dress and bracelet.

This is one of my favorite dresses since I can wear it in many different ways. This pair of boots has been getting a lot of wear, because they are ideal to wear with jeans or dresses during the winter. I am really looking forward to spring weather because my flats and wedges are feeling a little neglected this Winter.

Gray Ombre

Black and Gray Ombre Pleated Dress Forever 21 | Silver Metallic Scarf Forever 21 (here) | Swan Ring Forever 21 | Gray Heaven Flats Steve Madden (here) | Grey Earmuffs Material Girl
Another rainy day!

I have been a little obsessed with gray and black pieces of clothing. Gray to me is like a neutral and something one can never go wrong with. I picked this dress up on sale at Forever 21 and love that it looks like a two piece outfit. You cannot tell where the top ends and where the skirt begins. The pleating detail dress is what sold this dress to me, especially because it looks like it was influenced by the ballet trend.

I layered this dress with my metallic scarf, black tights and earmuffs. I had a larger coat over this look on my way to and from work. To play up the ballet look I added this Forever 21 swan ring to pull it all together.

After the Rain

Black Draped Cardigan Forever 21 | Peach Ruffle Blouse H&M | Black Pants Forever 21 | Thigh High Black Heel Boots Nine West | Butterfly Ring Forever 21 Rain, Rain, Rain! I have a love-hate relationship with this weather. I love the smell of grass after it rains, but hate having to go out when it’s pouring because most outfits I cannot wear for fear of getting them wet. I realize a big part of that issue is because of the lack of weather-proofed boots I have. I’ll be keeping a look out for some stylish weather-proof boots on sale next month.
However, I did get to wear my thigh high Nine West boots which helped me when deciding what to wear this morning. Today’s outfit revolves around these black heeled boots. I thought I would have an issue with wearing the heels all day,  but it helps that I am sitting most of the day when I work. These are some of the most comfortable boots with a heel I have ever owned. That might change once if I ever decide to invest in a pair of Christian Louboutin boots (like these!)
The tip of the heel was actually worn down, but I took them to a shoe cobbler and presto! These boots are as good as new! Now I know where to take my favorite shoes in order to maintain them. I won’t have to buy a new pair of thigh high boots anytime soon.
I wore all black today, but adding just a pop of color makes a pretty big statement if it has some interesting detail. This particular shade can kind of fit under a pastel, which was big all over the runway for this season. I’m typically not a huge fan of pastels, but it takes trial-and-error to find the right shade that works well with your skin tone.

Sweater and Boot Weather

Black Mock Sweater Top Forever 21 | Dark Blue Jeans Forever 21 | Tall black Overpas Suede Boots Steve Madden |
When you have a great pair of boots in your closet, you really don’t need much of an excuse to wear to wear them. So when the day feels even remotely chilly, I have been opting to wear my tall suede black boots by Steve Madden. I paired them with my high waisted jeans, warm mock sweater top, and a black coat. It turned out to be a good call because I ended up having to walk out our building during a fire drill and these boots are also really comfortable.

I really enjoy my new job. It has been really easy to transition into my new role and I am learning new things and being challenged with the tasks I am assigned. I was also super excited today because I finally got my staff I.D. which is making me feel like more of a team player, and it is great to be contributing to something meaningful. I’m aware after graduation, grads struggle finding a job right away. I am grateful to have found something, especially with great people.
