Live from SF! Urban Glam Posh Party

Earlier this week, I attended Poshmark’s first live party of 2014 in SF. This party was meant to kick-off their next cross-country tour and was held at Chambers.

Not only was Poshmark kicking off a tour, but it is also celebrating a major win this week by being one of the first e-commerce sites to work with USPS to negotiate better flat rate shipping for users. Before this announcement, shipping for any order less than $25 would be $6.99, while orders over $25 would be only $4.99. Now all orders ship for $4.99 as long as it is 4lbs or less. This news and the latest app update, gave everyone even more reason to celebrate.

I hung out with my amazing blogger friends (Chelsea Pearl and Jessica Valdez) and met some new people. I was really happy to meet a fellow East Bay Posher in real life! She recognized me from the app because she followed my closet and I gave her a Host Pick when I hosted my first Posh Party on the app. I have always heard of these types of meetings happening between people in the app, and it was so cool actually experiencing it. Her username is concept and you can shop her closet here.

The party featured its usual fun photo booth, but mani’s were also being done during the party by Pams & Kin. I loved the cute hangers being painted, and I would have gotten a mani if I had the patience to stay in line, but I was having too much fun catching up with the ladies at Poshmark and my SF blogger friends.

The party had some great co-hosts, including Caity from Moi Contre La Vie and Kate of The Fancy Pants Report. They are both stellar people and amazing bloggers, so I highly recommend checking their blogs out! The party had a great turnout and the lounge was packed for most of the night. Luckily there was a patio area where some of us stepped away to talk, and of course, take pictures! Kat (KatwalkSF), Caity, and I posed by the pool and spent the rest of night talking to our other blogger friends.

I had a blast and these are just a few of the many snapshots of the night. Special thanks to my BF Armando for coming out to the event to take amazing photos and for understanding my obsession with the app!

Stylematic Fashion Show and Launch Party

In the middle of February I attended the Launch Party and Fashion Show hosted by Stylematic that ended up being pretty epic. So much so, that Armando took over photos and it was no easy task narrowing down the best shots and my favorite looks of the show. The app is your personal pocket stylist, and the show featured how the app could help you dress by featuring some looks from local SF designers.  (Note: This post is very photo-heavy, but its a good thing, I promise!)

One of my favorite designs that came down the runway featured leather details. The designer is Candice Cuoco and her style is just as fierce as the leather pieces that walked down the runway. You can find/shop pieces from the collection here.

There were a lot of designers featured, but sadly I cannot remember all of their names. I liked the variety of looks that were featured and I am sure it was a struggle for the same models to change into so many things in such a short amount of time.

One of collections that made me feel really happy was the luxury active wear designed by Ellie. In part because the music was so upbeat and the models moved a little more effortlessly thanks to their sneakers, but the clothes seemed comfortable as well as stylish! It takes a lot of motivation for me to want to go to the gym, but it is a lot easier when I am wearing a cute outfit to the gym. What was interesting to see were some of the pieces being used for outfits to go out in. I love when my clothes can be worn multiple ways, so it is refreshing to gym wear not just be for the gym.

Another collection caught my eye and that was the collection featured by Lan Jaenicke. Paired with legwear by Ellie and not much else, gorgeous coats in different styles and colors dazzled the runway. I loved the minimalist look but how they also made a statement without the rest of the outfit. The camel colored one looks extremely chic and cozy thanks to the expression of the model. I am also a big fan of the orange peplum coat and would not mind adding it to my collection of coats.

There were plenty of other looks and designers featured, but these were my favorite looks. I would definitely check the app out and also visit the page’ of the designers I mentioned to give them your support. It was fun seeing all these looks and it would be great to be able to support emerging designers.

Hope you enjoyed my recap of the show. Until next time,

Stylematic Pre-Launch Party

As I mentioned in my last post, I attended a few events celebrating the launch of a new fashion app called Stylematic. This pre-party was 20’s themed and was celebrated in a cool studio in the Mission.

I think the photos I shared speak for themselves by showing how cool the space was and how fun the party was. I especially enjoyed grabbing some props and taking photos in the photo booth with my fellow blogger friends. Special thanks to Armando for wanting to join me at the party and taking these great shots.
Next up, I’ll be sharing photos from the Stylematic Soft Launch Party and Fashion Show. See you then!

Love Me, Love Me Not

This is my first time writing a post on an event I made cupcakes for. As you may recall from my previous post, I attended  trunk show hosted by Sasha Maks Vintage last Wednesday. The theme, of course, was Valentine’s Day, and it was the perfect opportunity to scoop up a last minute gift for a loved one or to show love to yourself!

Heart Print Sweater Moschino, Pink Top Diane Von Furstenberg, Skirt Forever 21, Wedges Steve Madden

There were drinks and of course yummy cupcakes made by yours truly, but nothing compared to all the irresistible eye candy on display for the trunk show. I tried on a few pieces and loved how they looked!

Who wouldn’t want a vintage jewelry piece for Valentine’s Day? I didn’t splurge on anything, but I will be dreaming about the pieces I tried on and kicking myself for not snatching them up right away.
If you want to look up any of these pieces, you can search for them here. Let me know if you pick anything up for yourself, even if Valentine’s Day has passed!

Styled by Sasha Maks

Move over Rachel Zoe, there is a new stylist rising in the San Francisco style scene and her name is Sasha Maksutenko!

Sasha has great taste as is apparent by her curated selection of vintage jewelry on her site Sasha Maks Vintage.  Her taste is also visible in her style and she has decided to launch her own personal stylist services through her upcoming website, Styled by Sasha Maks. To celebrate her new venture, she invited a few local taste makers to honor the launch of her site and for a taste of her work as a stylist and some delicious chocolate ganache cupcakes by yours truly.

The party was held in a gorgeous apartment with makeup and hair touch ups being offered along with delicious champagne and cupcakes. Sasha had her jewelry on display for sale and The Factory’s Fall capsule collection was available in case guests wanted to receive tips on how to update their current wardrobes by Sasha.

It was a very chic night and I enjoyed seeing all of Sasha’s outfits and jewelry selection. If you’d like to stay updated with her styling services and want to find out when her website launches, like her on Facebook here.
Thanks to Jennymay for providing photos from the event and a very special thanks to Sasha for the exclusive invite!

Until next time,
Brandy

Trendy Halloween 2013

On Friday, November 1, Trendy Lime invited me to their Halloween Party Trendy Halloween 2013. The last time I attended a Trendy Lime hosted event was in July for Jetlag 26 which featured a fashion show by Sudar. This costume party proved to be just as fun and even better since Armando, or Mr. Big, was able to take even better photos of the fashion show featuring designs by Kate Knuvelder. Her pieces were hauntingly beautiful as you can see for yourself!

This last look was my favorite! I am really amazed with how well Armando was able to capture the beauty of the clothes and couture jewelry pieces. The party was very fun, and that is of no surprise since Trendy Lime is known for its parties. Armando and I were able to hang out in the VIP lounge and helped ourselves to some free candy and snacks. I loved the fashion show, and as we left I am already excited for the next event Trendy Lime hosts!
