Remix Inspired by Allergic to Vanilla

Dress worn as Coat Phillip Lim x Target |Scarf Marc Jacobs x Neiman Marcus x Target | Grey Sweater August Silk | Jeggings 7 for All Mankind | Mint Silver Capped Luna Flats DV Dolce Vita | Peacock Ring Forever 21I wore this dress last week here and remixed it as a coat thanks to the inspiration from Carlina’s post here. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the dress on me. It is a gorgeous piece but somehow I didn’t feel completely comfortable with all the layers and the unique hemline. I have to admit, I love this as a coat a lot more and so did my coworkers. Everyone asked if it was a souvenir from my trip to Japan and were surprised I told them I bought it from Target and that it is really a dress. This gives the jacket major style points for being this versatile, so it is safe to say this is staying in my closet.

This photo shoot was fun – Armando and I were greeted by a few squirrels checking to see if we had snacks. They left once they realized we had nothing but Armando took a few photos of them as they approached us. Loved the way these photos came out as well as the ones we took at the Marina in my last post for the Banana Republic Factory Store and Monogram collaboration. It feels like whenever the background is gorgeous the photos tend to look effortless.

If you missed my last post featuring the collaboration with Banana Republic Factory Store and Monogram you can check it out here or on Monogram here. Enjoy taking a look at some of Bay Area friends Jennifer from Just Add Glam and Elise from WTFAB! too! Don’t forget dresses are 50% off at the Banana Republic Factory Store, so make sure to grab your holiday dress before it ends December 12th!

Until next time,

Jewel Tones

Dress, Statement Necklace, and Clutch c/o Banana Republic Factory Store, Love Ring and Bangles Forever 21, Blue Suede Heels Enzo Angiolini via Crossroads Trading Co.Happy Cyber Monday!
I’ve partnered up with Monogram and Banana Republic Factory Store to share an outfit I styled from a sponsored shopping trip I made a few weeks ago. I needed an outfit that I could wear to a wedding reception so I immediately made my way to the dresses. I tried on a few and picked this purple dress because of the rich color and shape. I felt like it really flattered my body and it easily works for the holidays dinners and parties coming up this season.
Before making my way to the register, I spotted the gorgeous necklace and the shades of green and blue stones really complimented the dress. The clutch was calling my name when I made my final lap around the store and it was great how everything fit together. The suede texture of the clutch reminded me of blue suede heels I had at home and they also worked with the blue from the necklace. I love how easy it was building a complete outfit at the Banana Republic Factory Store considering it was my first time in one. I admit I am a little obsessed and went back yesterday to purchase another dress while they had their 50% deal for Black Friday.
Their Black Friday Sale of 50% off their entire store ended yesterday, but you can still take advantage of 50% off dresses from 12/2 – 12/12 (excludes clearance items). A midst all this Cyber Monday madness, take a break from your computer to make your way over to your closest Banana Republic Factory Store and pick up your perfect dress for the holidays!
P.S. +Elise Armitage  of WTFAB! is also collaborating with Monogram and BRFS. Check out her outfit on her blog here. (Spoiler Alert: We have similar taste!)

After Thanksgiving

Trench Viktor & Rolf for H&M, White Button Down Wet Seal, Skinny Jeans and Knit Beanie Forever 21, Necklace Vintage Via Alameda Antique Fair, Shoes Sam Edelman Via Poshmark, Gold Belt Kensie Girl Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Did you go Black Friday shopping? I did not, but I did join my Mom in buying a birthday present from Victoria’s Secret in the afternoon and I think that technically counts as going Black Friday shopping. I wasn’t excited about it this year and it might be because I recently resolved to not buying things all the time as tempting as the deal is. I bought these gorgeous Nicholas Kirkwood heels and it feels like that’s all the shopping I can do for the rest of the year.
This outfit is one of my favorites and I didn’t want to miss taking photos of it so Armando used his phone to take my outfit photos on our way to dinner earlier this month. I don’t think it completely captures how cool it it was but I am still impressed with the quality of photos his phone provides. It was part hipster, part French girl. The perfect go-to outfit to go shopping in. I pieced this outfit together around my shoes. They are from Poshmark and I was able to pay for them using credit I had on the app. I’ve added a few more items and this weekend they are offering Free Shipping on purchases over $50, so check out my closet for some designer pieces or great steals!
I haven’t ever participated in Cyber Monday, but what abut you? What deals are you going to be taking advantage of this Monday?

Fall Florals with Philip

Floral Shirt Dress Philip Lim x Target, Black Shirt and Leggings Wet Seal, Grey Suede Over the Knee Boots Steve MaddenI caved in to the Philip Lim x Target collaboration hype when I spotted this shirt dress on sale earlier this month when I was buying more hangers to accommodate my spoils from The Factory blowout sale. (This is my typical Target experience: going in for one thing and walking out with items not on my list!) It is a gorgeous dress but I am actually kind of unsure about it on me/ don’t know if I love it. It was a pretty chilly day so I felt the need to pair this dress with leggings and boots to bring it into Fall, but the hemline is really unique and I don’t feel my styling did it justice. I love how Carlina, from Allergic to Vanilla, wore it as a jacket here so I might be using her as inspiration the next time I wear it. I feel this piece needs a second, or third, chance before I decide to keep it or sell in my closet on Poshmark.
Armando and I made it to Salinas to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday today! Maybe I’ll finally get back in the kitchen and make something for dessert tomorrow  Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving in case I don’t post tomorrow! I am thankful for simply for  following me and /or reading my posts.  Seriously, thank you for being there for me to share my life with you!

Styled by Sasha Maks

Move over Rachel Zoe, there is a new stylist rising in the San Francisco style scene and her name is Sasha Maksutenko!

Sasha has great taste as is apparent by her curated selection of vintage jewelry on her site Sasha Maks Vintage.  Her taste is also visible in her style and she has decided to launch her own personal stylist services through her upcoming website, Styled by Sasha Maks. To celebrate her new venture, she invited a few local taste makers to honor the launch of her site and for a taste of her work as a stylist and some delicious chocolate ganache cupcakes by yours truly.

The party was held in a gorgeous apartment with makeup and hair touch ups being offered along with delicious champagne and cupcakes. Sasha had her jewelry on display for sale and The Factory’s Fall capsule collection was available in case guests wanted to receive tips on how to update their current wardrobes by Sasha.

It was a very chic night and I enjoyed seeing all of Sasha’s outfits and jewelry selection. If you’d like to stay updated with her styling services and want to find out when her website launches, like her on Facebook here.
Thanks to Jennymay for providing photos from the event and a very special thanks to Sasha for the exclusive invite!

Until next time,
Brandy

Changes

Leather Jacket Members Only | Purple Checkered Tunic Fire Los Angeles | Scarf Marc Jacobs Neiman Marcus x Target | Black Leggings Wet Seal | Suede Grey Overpas Boots Steve Madden | Stacked Rings Forever 21 | Nude Satchel c/o JustFAB!November has been a time of many changes: the weather is definitely getting chillier, the sun sets earlier, and even Armando is preparing to apply for school suggesting a change to come for the next year. Needless to say, all of these factors have made taking my outfit photo increasingly difficult. Luckily I have a boyfriend who enjoys taking photos at night provided he is bundled up for warmth and fed beforehand. =D
I had some exciting news that I wanted to share since last night but the power was out in my apartment (and entire street)! So I lit candles and sat around folding clothes while I talked to my Mom on the phone as I waited for the power (and Wi-Fi) to return. On a side note: the wind in the Bay Area last night was IN-SANE! Trees were knocked down and that might have been why the power was out on my block. It was really bad when I was shopping in San Leandro and I could not believe how bad it was when I returned to Berkeley.
My shopping trip to the Banana Republic Factory Store in San Leandrois due a sweet collaboration I have coming up with Monogram and Banana Republic Factory Store. I was having a tough time picking out which dress to buy yesterday on instagram, but the one I chose is perfect for a holiday soiree. I can’t wait to share what I bought and how I end up styling it with some other goodies I found there. That sponsored post will be coming soon so stay tuned!
I hope your weekend is relaxing with some pre-holiday shopping too but with no power outages due to freak wind storms.
Until next time,
