All Saints

Spring cleaning is in full effect in my small, studio apartment.

I’ve been MIA a lot more often from the blog and social media, and in large part, it is due to being focused on cleaning out my space and clearing out my wardrobe. It takes me a long time to commit to the idea of actually letting go of some pieces, but lately, I’ve been on a posting spree, snapping photos of items, and listing them consistently on the Poshmark App

I’ve been on a denim buying kick lately, which is kind of surprising for me. I rarely buy jeans, they always tend to be too long and require hemming. I also never know what waist size I should be wearing. I learned when pulling back on the waist when jeans are on, if there is a gap larger than 3 fingers, you should size down because the denim will eventually stretch out with wear.

I had a great experience trying on jeans a couple of months ago at Madewell and fell in love with their denim selection. I bought 2 pairs during that shopping trip, and I could not believe how well these “rip and repair” skinny jeans fit me! These felt amazing and wore them right away.

I had this sleeveless turtleneck I had been wanting to incorporate into an outfit in order to list on Poshmark. It was handed on to me by my mom after she cleaned out her closet to sell, among other items. I’ve been adding more items to my closet these past few weeks and this knit top has already sold, so make sure to follow me on the app to stay up to date with my newest listings.

Hope you are having a great week so far and until next time!

Finally enjoying summer weather right when fall begins. This outfit is from April when I spent an afternoon with my good friend Chelsea Pearl. Her look from the same day is perfect for Fall and can be found here.
I know I’ve been absent a lot more since my return from my trip in July. I turned 26 at the end of August and every year I had done a blog post recapping the year. This year I didn’t really feel like writing anything. This year has not been what I expected, in both positive and negative ways. I like to focus on the positive and I have been absent from blogging recently because I’ve had the chance to do some freelance design work. I learned so much about design and working with a client in the past few weeks. It was fulfilling work, but I felt it drained all my creative energy, especially because I was doing this on top of my full-time job. Luckily I have outfit photos from months ago on the back burner that I’ve been wanting to share and I feel like I am ready to get back into the swing of things.
The days I don’t blog make me feel like something is missing, and I can’t help but think about not posting when a few days go by. I love having this corner of the internet and I love sharing what I decide to wear. I don’t think I can ever really stop sharing my love of dressing up, in case it ever seems like that. I am very grateful for those of you stopping by to see what I am up to and sticking with me on my journey.
For today’s outfit post, I am wearing my Zara moto jacket I found at Crossroads Trading Co. It has been a staple in my wardrobe this summer, and I can’t believe I almost decided against purchasing it. I don’t pop by my local Crossroads Trading Co. as often, but I am glad when I do check it out every now and then. I paired it with my otherwise sweet pieces. to toughen up the skirt and floral top. The top is originally from Macy’s but can be found for sale on my Poshmark closet. It’s a blouse I’ve worn before in a very, very old blog post, and I love that I was able to remix it with pieces I love. I might end up keeping it if it doesn’t sell, but I’ve been focused on selling more items just for the sake of space in my closet. Check out my Poshmark closet at username willbakeforshoe for all the new listings I’ve added these last couple of weeks.
I hope you are having a great week and I look forward to sharing my next post soon!

Hello September!
Fall is right around the corner and there are so many trends I am interested in trying. I am excited velvet is back and to be able to use a specific blazer I have in my closet for Fall. But until it really starts to feel like Fall in the Bay Area, I can still wear cute, summer dresses just like this stripe number.
This stripe dress is from my latest Le Tote box. I wanted to try something different, and while I’ve worn fit and flare dresses before, I’ve never worn a dress with cut outs on the side. I paired the dress with the Rebecca Minkoff necklace and Imoshion ice cream print clutch also from my Le Tote box and my thrifted moto jacket. The clutch is not something I would typically reach for, but I liked the fun print and it felt like a great mixed print to incorporate with this dress.
I’ve been perusing some amazing sales happening this Labor Day weekend. I haven’t purchased a lot of new clothes since returning from my trip to Japan, but this might be the weekend I stock up on some pieces for Fall. I haven’t done a haul style post before, and I am considering writing a few for my souvenirs and outfits from Japan. I’ve been dreaming of my next trip, but hopefully I can get my head out of the clouds for enough time to work on that.

Summer Blues

Dark Denim Jacket Kut from the Kloth via Le Tote (here) | Navy Silk Blouse Diane von Furstenberg (similar) | Pearl Statement Necklace Forever 21 | Blue Floral Print High Waist Skirt Express | Silver Capped Blue Flats DV Dolce Vita (similar here) | August is my favorite time of the year. Summer weather still hasn’t fully kicked in, but fall is right around the corner and back-to-school shopping begins. My birthday is right around the start of classes, but I felt back-to-school shopping made up for it. My mom would get me set up with some new clothes, and some items I picked up were only because I played the “It’s almost my birthday card.” Now I really look forward to fall because I associate it with an updated wardrobe for a fresh start to the new year. I’ve gotten into the habit of getting myself birthday presents, but that’s a topic for another blog post.
Lately I’ve felt I am in need of something new in my life. It might be a new haircut, an updated wardrobe or maybe simply changing the decor around in my apartment. I know I’ve considered changing jobs, and it really might just be that. I haven’t had the motivation to really get out there and search, but I have redesigned my resume and have kept it as up-to-date as possible. The school year is starting again, but I am no longer a student. I thought I’d really know what I would want to do sometime after graduating, but I feel just as lost as I did when I graduated. As you might have guess, I have been very reflective and unsure of where to go next, and I think it has to do with my looming birthday coming up. Luckily, I am an optimistic person and believe I’ll be find inspired by something soon. Maybe you’ll see me, or the site, with a new look. Or maybe I’ll have a new look on life. One thing’s for sure, I’ll definitely have a few new items in my wardrobe for fall.
