Jury Duty

Pink Cardigan with Gold Buttons NYC (on sale here) | Floral Top Sele, Shiny Pants Anchor Blue | Signature C Tote Bag and Gold Flats Coach | Belt, Necklace and Rings Forever 21 (same rings here) | Silver Boyfriend Watch Marc by Marc JacobsI had to report for Jury Duty this morning, and when attending it is recommended to go dressed business casual and dressed in layers. I brought along my long Bebe coat to wear over in case I felt cold, but I dressed in some layers with a new cardigan my mom purchased for me last week. I love the subtle stripes and gold buttons. I picked the floral top for fun and it is dressed up when compared to when I last wore it here.

I wore my watch to look like I get to places on time (which isn’t always the case) and I wore some rings I had just purchased that day to go with the silver watch and gold necklace. I love to match my clothes where one bright colored item highlights the color for another piece in the outfit.
Despite dressing up business casual, I was excused from jury duty because my home address now is in Berkeley despite my constant visits home. Missing one day of work can result in twice as much work the following day, so I am prepared to dress in something that says “I am here and ready to get stuff done!” I am leaning towards something pink;)

High Heel Booties

Black Long Sleeve Sweater, Cream and Black Beanie and Quilted Purse Forever 21 | Silver Boyfriend Watch Marc by Marc Jacobs | Wide-Leg Trousers Theory | Cream and Black  Bow High Heel Booties Manolo BlahnikI wanted to pull off a classy look today, and what could be classier than cream and black! Black slacks and the quilted purse contributed to my classic look.
I found these booties on eBay, and in all honesty, they are not the most comfortable. I could hear my mom saying “Beauty is pain” despite the long distance. Despite not being the most comfortable, they look great with these slacks! (and skinny jeans, and black tights when wearing a tulle skirt!)
I felt like I started the Monday off right and luckily did a lot of sitting today when wearing these.
What would you wear with these amazing booties?

Mod Sweater Dress

Blue and Black Mod Sweater Dress Alice + Olivia|  Black Blazer 7 for All Mankind | Fringe Necklace Forever 21 | Black Ulltra Pumps Steve MaddenAnother one of my posts that features and item from my Crossroads Trading Co shopping party. While it was not the feature item, I found this amazing long black blazer last week.
I have actually had this dress for awhile and it is also from Crossroads Trading Co. I bought the dress in the spring, and it did not feel appropriate for the weather. The dress is very warm, has an a-line shape, with a cute belt and pocket details. What stood out to me is the great print and shape. It feels like I was meant to hold out wearing this dress until I found this blazer! Wearing it with tights and statement necklace completed the look.
I am sometimes really bad when it comes to buying clothes and not wearing them for awhile despite having outfit ideas before purchasing them. I am doing a lot better considering I wore two items from last weeks shopping trip already! The week feels like it has flown by and I am looking forward to the weekend!

Navy Blouse

Navy Ruffle Blouse Diane Von Furstenberg | Navy Beanie, Jeans, and Gold Ring Forever 21 | Gold Love Birds Buckle Belt H&M | Black Leather Zeda Boots Steve MaddenFirst item I wear from my Crossroads Trading Co. shopping party purchases: A lovely Diane Von Furstenberg navy blouse. The details are simply stunning to me, and in my mind I already pictured quite a few outfit ideas with it.
I dressed up a designer piece with quite a few low-end items. I wanted to mix navy and black, and I added some gold accents. The bird belt not only fit the color scheme I was going for, but gave the top a more feminine shape. I am really into matching details, and the detail of the beanie goes perfectly with the stitching of the blouse! The boots were also chosen to go with the little leather detail in the belt.
Sometimes I feel like such a square for going the easy-route and going with what obviously matches. My resolution should be to try wearing things that are not too matchy-matchy, but we’ll see how that goes.

Floral Print Wrap Dress

Floral Print Wrap Dress  Diane Von Furstenberg, Yellow Blazer Fendi, Floral Print Purse Coach Poppy, Black Patent Ulltra Pumps Steve Madden, Pink Bow Headband Forever 21This is my third time wearing this wrap dress since starting this blog, and I never get tired of it! The only differences from the last time I wore this beauty is my hair and the bright pink headband.
I love floral prints (as you can see from my purse and dress), and the classic black and white combo with a touch of yellow and pink made purchasing this dress a no-brainer. It was one of my eBay splurges, but well worth it since I wore it often enough for the summer. It was a very warm day today,  and its expected to be this way tomorrow too. Even though I feel I can dress cuter when it is warmer, I almost didn’t get my photo taken for my post because of the time change! Luckily I made it home right away in order to have it taken by a skilled photographer. At this rate though, I am going to have to get used to taking my outfit of the day photos earlier.

Shiny Grey Trench Coat

Trench Coat, Necklace, and Bracelets Forever 21, Black Wrap Dress Diane Von Furstenberg, Patent Leather Flats Steve Madden One more day until Halloween! Rain is expected tomorrow, but I hope not since tomorrow I plan on wearing my costume to work.
This trench coat has been with me for awhile, and I can never let it go because of the flattering fit as well as the color. It simply goes well with a lot of my black clothing and keeps my dresses or pants from looking too dark or overwhelmingly black. As you can see from the final photo, the lining inside is pretty cute too.
I am also very happy to finally feature my classic, black DVF wrap dress as well. I chose flats because this wrap dress is shorter than the other ones. Once again I piled on the bangles and added an extra bangle. Since that was round, I choose this necklace to keep up with the round theme.
I am off now to go bake a pumpkin spice bundt cake and frost some caramel apple cupcakes. Will post photos of those on Thursday (or maybe tomorrow) if I finish my test from my night class early.
In case I don’t post tomorrow, hope you have a safe, and Happy Halloween!
