SKYY Barcraft Watermelon Fresca Cocktail Recipe

Do you ever struggle coming up with your own cocktail recipe? Well, I am here to show you just how easy it is to make your own drink thanks to SKYY Barcraft. I experienced SKYY Barcraft at a party a couple of months ago, and ever since then I loved their taste and how easy it is to mix it with your favorite carbonated drink. The best part is that its simplicity allows you to focus on garnishing and putting a creative spin on your drink.

To make your own drink using SKYY Barcraft, all you have to do is add one part SKYY Barcraft to two parts club soda over ice. For the Watermelon Fresca bottle,  I opted to use Frozen Berries as my ice and 2 parts of Izze Sparkling Blackberry as my “club soda”. The mixture of Watermelon and Blackberry reminds me of an Agua Fresca and is sweet and refreshing. I utilized the frozen berries as ice and garnish, but they make a great garnish on a cocktail umbrella or toothpick if you opted to you use ice instead.
I plan on sharing another recipe using the White Sangria in an upcoming post. I recently have been really into glassware and thrifted the goblets I used in this post. Aren’t they amazing? Glassware is an important part of the presentation and having cute straws doesn’t hurt.
Let me know what you think of this cocktail recipe and if you have tried SKYY Barcraft Watermelon Fresca!

Cat Cora at Macy’s Union Square

I love to bake and have only recently started to enjoy cooking. I am excited to share a fun culinary event that will be taking place at Macy’s in San Francisco, Union Square next Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 at 1 PM. Chef Cat Cora, and co-host Liam Mayclem, will be presenting a special Q&A session about Cat’s memoir on Southern life, Greek heritage, and the meals that have shaped her memories. Chef Cat Cora is is the first female Iron Chef and co-host for Around the World in 80 Plates.
As an added bonus to guests attending this event, any purchase of $35 or more in the Home department will receive a $10 Macy’s gift card and a copy of Cooking As Fast As I Can (which Chef Cora will sign directly after the event!) I know I’ve been looking into finally buying a blender, and this sounds like the perfect time to do that and to discover some of Chef Cat Cora’s favorite recipes.
This event is free in the Lower Level Cellar Kitchen, but don’t forget to RSVP at: https://macyscatcoramemoirs.eventbrite.com. Hope to see you there!

The trick is to have one unifying color between the two prints you are working with. I decided to bring my BYER CA belt out for a spin and pair it with this thrifted Jason Wu x Target daisy print dress.
This dress is listed in my Poshmark closet, and the biggest motivation to wear it is comes from my desire to update the cover photos of the items I have for sale. I struggle letting go of dresses the most, because they are the easiest items to style. I was able to slip this dress on, add a few accessories, and enjoy the day in it. Since I don’t have a lot of closet space though, collecting dresses quickly grows out of hand and becomes an even bigger problem compared to shoes. Boxes can be stacked on top of each other, but that is tricky when it comes to dresses. I’ve added a bunch of items lately, but I am considering using The Real Real for a couple of designer pieces. I’d be curious to know if you’ve used that service before. I buy from The Real Real often, but I like selling items on my own because I can get more for them. I don’t only want to spend all my time listing with no results, so having someone take care of that and clear up space sounds amazing to me.
Hopefully you’ll check out my closet to help me clear some closet space for some items I’ve been eyeing for Fall. Stay tuned for another summer dress outfit post that is also listed on Poshmark. I had a blast this weekend at the Eat Real Festival and will be sharing photos in my monthly recap post, but you can add me on Instagram @willbakeforshoes for a look at what I ate!
Until next time,

Kammeyer Accessories (here) | Cognac Rogan Flats Steve Madden (similar here) | Aviator Sunglasses  Diane Von Furstenberg | Fedora BDG |This summer can be summed up for me in two words: food festivals. I attended the San Francisco Street Food Festival last month and the Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival last weekend. This weekend is the Eat Real Festival in Oakland, and I am pretty excited about it! After our short heat wave last week,  I am hoping it doesn’t rain so we can enjoy this outdoor festival, but rain won’t stop me and Armando from going!
I wore this dress on one our warmest weekends in SF to the San Francisco Street Food Festival.  I picked it up when I attended the BYER CA store opening at the San Francisco Premium Outlets.  I love the cut and the versatile belt. The hat and sunglasses were a necessity for the hot weather. Of course, we put on plenty of sunblock, but it was refreshing that some of the vendors where placed inside a large warehouse.
Next year we will have to pick up some of the Food Passports to save on tastings. I have another dress I bought from BYER California that I have not worn yet, but it should be making its way to an outfit post pretty soon. Enjoy 25% off the Willshire Collection, Westwood Collection, and Downtown LA Collection by using the code byerca25 at checkout.
Hope you are having a great week! I am looking into sharing a recap of the Ghiradelli Chocolate Festival and potentially the Eat Real Food Festival, but add me on Instagram as @willbakeforshoes to see what yummy eats I come across!

Off-The-Shoulder

We don’t really have true summer weather, so a lot of the summer dresses have been waiting for this week. I wore this dress during the last heat wave, but it’s perfect for this week’s weather so it might have to come out again.
I have never tried the off-the-shoulder trend, but I like how it gives of a casual summer vibe. I found this beauty at Crossroads Trading Co. last year during Winter. I envisioned wearing this on a hot day but also envisioned being on vacation at a resort or beach. The falling willow print and chiffon fabric is dreamy and makes me feel like I should be making flower crowns in the forest. I wore it to work, but the fabrics is so light and airy and made being in a warm office bearable. Of course, I had to pair it with my favorite denim jacket from LE TOTE, but it didn’t stay on long during the day.
It’s a pretty different style dress than I normally wear. Are you a fan of the off-the-shoulder trend?

August Instagram Recap

August is my favorite month. Not just because of my birthday, but also because it officially marks the changing of the season. I love warm weather, but I am excited for the crisp Fall and to be able to wear coats and boots. Here is my recap of August from Instagram!

At the beginning of the month, I saw my sister off at SFO as she embarked on her trip back to Japan, this time to teach English. She is doing well, but I definitely miss her. Planning on taking a trip over to visit in the Spring, this time with Armando!

IFB relaunched at the beginning of the month and held their party at Cinta Salon with bites from E+ O Restaurant. I had a blowout done and I got to spend some time with some of my blogger friends. I can’t wait to share photos of how my hair turned out in a couple of outfit posts.

Top Row: Modcloth has a pop-up shop in SF! Tried on some clothes (and sunglasses) in store. It’s been extended to the end of the holidays, so stop by if you are in the area! Bottom row: This month was full of store openings. I was invited to attended the Byer California Store Opening at the San Francisco Premium Outlets and off course I ended up picking up some goodies.

Armando and I attended the relaunch of the NIQUEA.D brand at Papyrus in San Francisco. I won an Instagram contest during the event and took home a pretty bracelet and statement necklace by NIQUEA.D with me.

Cooled off on a hot day with some Talenti Gelato and Frozen Kuhsterd at the San Francisco Street Food Festival.

I worked at Caltopia again and came home with a bunch of freebies. I even won a goodie bag for my Instagram photo of the Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.

Turned 25 this month! Armando got me some Choux Bakery Cream Puffs and flowers. My parents also sent me some flowers, and they took me to out for dinner where I got my birthday chocolate lava cake.

Of course, this recap would not be complete without a blogger brunch and cocktail party. On the left, a look at the Brioche French Toast from La Note Restaurant. I had brunch with East Bay Bloggers Brittany, Melissa, and Julianne.  On the right, I spent an evening sipping cocktails and trying on vintage jewelry at the Hotel Nikko Kanpai Lounge with Chelsea, Live Love Moda and Sasha Maks Vintage.

The highlight of the month,  was spending a warm afternoon at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk to celebrate my birthday with Armando. We snacked on a lot of yummy food and it was the perfect way to end the month.
Hope you enjoyed last month’s recap. There’s already so much going on this month already so I look forward to sharing that soon!
