Peach Blossoms

I am not going to lie, I found this skirt through another blogger (Kendi Everyday) and immediately wanted to own this Peach Blossom midi skirt. I loved the navy and pink colors and the print. Kendi is great at mixing her prints, and I just may have to take one of her examples and apply it with this skirt. I am convinced she styled it better but I am also convinced I need those pink heels she wore with it.
I am mixing it with some older items in my closet, such as the sweater and purse. I have both items listed in my Poshmark closet, and I had not taken great pictures of them until this outfit shoot (hence why they were listed.) I like putting the time to take good photos for my cover shots, but it isn’t always possible. I am going to try challenging myself with styling something I haven’t worn in awhile. I figure if I could incorporate it with some of my favorite pieces of the moment, I can give an item new life and potentially see a piece I own in a new light. I know I’ve listed items before after taking photos in them and changed my mind about selling them. Sometimes I am a firm believer of out with the old, in with the new, but keeping older items is okay as long as you wear them again.
Speaking of new, how sweet are my heels? Armando took photos of this outfit a few weeks ago, but I wore these heels yesterday during my staff presentation and received a ton of compliments. I found them at DSW in the clearance section! It was too good to be true. These aren’t available anymore, but you can find this similar pair on their website by BCBG Paris.
Hope you are having a great so far!

Bare Republic Sunscreen Review

Summer officially starts this month, but chances are you are already spending time outside in the sun. Even if your summer is not so sunny, you should always consider putting on sunblock before you head outside. Since I was going to Hawaii, I knew I would need to pick up some more for my trip, but I was lucky to get some samples of Bare Republic Sunscreen made by COOLA Suncare.
I took the Bare Republic Natural SPF 30 Mineral Face Sunscreen and SPF 50 Sport Sunscreen. I didn’t pack the SPF 30 Body Spray since it was labeled for kids and since it wasn’t really a TSA approved sized like the other two.

Bare Republic was made exclusively for Target as one of the first affordable 100% natural and mineral sunscreen collection (everything priced at $14.99.) Between the SPF 50 Sport sunscreen and the SPF 30 Mineral Face sunscreen, I preferred the Sports one. I felt the Face sunscreen was a little bit too oily for me, and would find myself reaching for the Sports one in my beach bag to apply to my face as well. This was my first time experience a natural and mineral sunscreen, and felt it took a little longer to completely rub it into the skin. My mom and sister both were using my sunblock instead of the ones they brought, so overall I would say these two were a hit during our trip!

I love the colorful packaging for this sunscreen and I would definitely buy the Sports SPF 50 sunscreen again! It is water-resistent (for 80 minutes), broad-spectrum and chemical free! I am still on the fence with the Mineral Face sunscreen, but I’ll be testing it out throughout the summer to see if I change my mind. As I mentioned before, you can find these sunscreens exclusively at Target in case you are interested in testing these out for when you dare to go bare this summer!

Oahu, Hawaii Travel Diary

As I mentioned in my previous post, I had some fun photos from my recent trip to Hawaii that I just had to share! Hope you enjoy this quick recap of my trip.
Day 1: Checking in to the Pacific Beach Hotel; Walking along Waikiki Beach; enjoying a Mai Tai and a seafood buffet at the Oceanarium Restaurant in the Pacific Beach Hotel.

Day 2: Enjoying breakfast by the beach at the Barefoot Beach Cafe; The view from the cafe and a look at my Steve Madden sandals I wore on the trip; Sunbathing by Waikiki after a day of shopping and eating a rainbow snow cone; Eating Tacos from Tiki’s Grill & Bar; (Not pictured: Complimentary viewing of Tales of Pacific after dinner at the Pacific Beach Hotel.)

Day 3: Breakfast at Eggs ‘n Things; Shopping at the Ala Moana Mall and noontime performance;  Dinner and a show at Germaine’s Luau

Day 4: Final breakfast with a view from Lulu’s Waikiki; Spending all day at the beach, Sampled Malasadas and Pao Doce from Leonard’s.

I loved this vacation since I was able to spend it with my mom and sister and because we pretty much relaxed by the beach during most of it. Next time I plan on doing more while I am in Oahu, but this was a great break from everything and a great opportunity to tan! Hope you enjoyed my quick recap of my trip!

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Hawaii and for the first time I felt I went on a real vacation. Going on trips for a vacation is one thing, but going somewhere with no plans and doing nothing but relax is something I rarely get a chance to do. I spent a lot of time at the beach and got a nice tan.
I picked up the Lilly Pulitzer for Target dress and pieces of jewelry during the release of this collection Target’s website. It was an intense shopping experience, struggling to checkout and having the server unreachable, but I felt I got most of what I wanted. There were 2 other bracelets I would have wanted to complete this look, but I am happy that I had these pieces specifically for my trip.
I wore this during our second day in Waikiki. We had breakfast at Egg’s ‘N Things, shopped at the Ala Moana Shopping Center, and then headed out to Germaine’s Luau. While my mom, sister and I spent a lot of time at the beach, going to Germaine’s was one of the few touristy things I felt we needed to do during our time in Hawaii.
I plan do to a quick little recap of my trip my next post in case you didn’t catch what I was up to on Instagram, so stay tuned for that!

Summer Vacation

Kammeyer Accessories (here) |  Le Rouge Carmin Escarpin 306 Lipstick  Givenchy (here) |For a brief minute, the Bay Area had a warm day where I started to feel like Summer had started. Then Karl the Fog returned, and we are back to cold and grey skies. I am grateful that I will be enjoying sun, sand and blue skies next week during my girls only trip with my mom and sister to Hawaii. We’ll be spending some time in Oahu, with the intent to just relax and celebrate my sister’s graduation from college.
This denim jacket by Kut from the Kloth is coming along with me along with my BDG Fedora. The jacket is from LE TOTE, and I’ve decided I can’t live without it! Borrowing clothes from LE TOTE reduces my need to shop for trendy items, but sometimes there are some things I can’t bear to return. This dark wash denim jacket will not only be my vacation staple next week, but also a summer staple. I’ve worn it with so many things, I can’t believe I never invested in a dark wash denim jacket like this.
I paired my summer ready pieces with a simple See by Chloe black dress. I found the dress and at Crossroads Trading Co., and I expect I’ll be wearing some other pieces I found there during my upcoming trip. I am love that black can work during the summer and plan on wearing this dress again on the blog soon.
Can’t wait to share photos of my trip with you all! I don’t think I’ll be writing a blog post during the vacation, but follow me on Instagram @willbakeforshoes if you want to see photos from my little getaway.
Until next time!

Victorian

Navy Military Inspired Vest Twelve by Twelve (here) | White Long Sleeve Button Down  Alice + Olivia (similar here) | Black Brocade Print Pants  Alice + Olivia | Black Pippen Booties Sam Edelman (similar here) | Black  Cedar Street Small Elissa Bag  Kate Spade (here) |Good Morning!
Hope you made your mom feel special yesterday for Mother’s Day. I know mine was happy to see me (and didn’t mind being spoiled with gifts.)
Monday’s are sometimes the hardest days to dress for (in my opinion) because you need to get out of weekend mode and try to think about work. I especially struggle with waking up, and getting out of bed for that matter. When I do, putting an outfit together at the last minute usually results in me scrambling to get ready Monday mornings and potentially arriving a little late. When in doubt, through a vest on it. That’s what I discovered with this Alice + Olivia button down. I wore it with a black and white sweater vest in a recent post and now paired it with a military/Victorian inspired vest and it still looks put together. Instead of pairing it with some plain black pants, I opted to wear these black pants with a brocade/demask print. If you ever want to make your outfit a little more interesting, playing with texture is another way to go besides color and print.
The vest is listed for sale in my +Poshmark closet, and I even spotted the same pants listed in another user’s closet here. I found my boots and button down on +Poshmark recently, so it is completely possible to buy this complete outfit through the app with a little patience and by keeping an eye out for similar items. If you haven’t used it yet, you are missing out on some cute clothes. Download the app and start out with $5 credit by using my referral code HAEWR. You’ll see soon enough why I am such a fan.
Hope you are having a great start to your week!
