Every year for Easter while growing up, my parents would dress my sister and I in floral dresses and take our photos by wisteria plants. We lived in a house that had a huge backyard, and our easter egg hunts were very intense. But once I was in middle school, we moved, and were not able to take pictures by wisteria trees. Luckily we planted a tree and some bloomed. It is not as magnificent as the ones we used to have, and the backyard we have now is not as big, but the memories we made were just as important as the ones in the past. Wisteria’s are my favorite flower, and I am glad to bring back that tradition we had in our current home.

Leaves

Pink Print Flora Silk Top Diane Von Furstenberg | Raspberry Pink Cardigan, Black Skirt, and Leaves Pendant Necklace Forever 21 | Black Suede Booties Steve MaddenBy now one can probably note I have an obsession with Diane Von Furstenberg. I have so many tank tops, but the weather has not been cooperating with me in order to start showcasing my spring looks. It has not been appropriate for dresses and skirts without leggings or tights either, but it will be soon enough (I hope.)

The top was the inspiration for today, but it is too voluminous so tucking it in makes it work better for my body. The cardigan clearly matches the same shade as the feather print, and adding the boots makes the look more casual. Overall, I love this look and it could be perfect for warmer weather minus the boots and tights and opting in some cute flats instead.

Rainy Day

Red and Black Checkered Parka and Black Jeans Forever 21 | Hello Kitty T-Shirt Sanrio | Black Suede Boots Steve MaddenThe picture was taken after work when the sun came out, but it was raining for most of the day. This meant business at the store was especially slow, but thankfully I have interesting coworkers who make the day feel like it is going by a little faster.

Today’s look was inspired by what a spread from Nylon Magazine, particularly the parka’s pattern. It has a skater/snowboarder vibe, but it was also practical to wear on a cold, rainy day like today. Since it was red and black colors on the jacket the shirt was a perfect match.

While I feel I have a grunge look going on, I’m excited for the weather clearing so I can wear dresses and skirts more often.

Indoor Sky Diving Date

Yes. This post sounds a little strange, but Friday was a paid holiday and I had purchased a Groupon to go indoor sky diving at iFly SF in Union City about 8 months ago. It was a date we had planned on going on for awhile, but since Mando and I both work now, our days off never overlap. This Groupon was also going to expire soon so having this day off allowed us to go ahead and finally try out this experience.

As you can see, we had a good time. It was recommended to wear loose, fitting comfortable clothes and sneakers, which I did.The experience was very surreal. I’ve had dreams before where I could fly, but to actually experience it was awesome! It was not easy in the beginning, especially because you are trying to place your body in a certain position while a huge force of wind is keeping you up. I don’t know if I would ever go sky diving off a plane since I have a small fear of heights, but I would come back here to do some more indoor skydiving! I’d like to learn the tricks and be able to fly higher next time.

After this adventure, Armando and I headed to In-and Out to have some burgers and animal style fries. We then decided to catch a movie since the theater was right next door in the Union Landing Shopping Center. We watched The Hunger Games due to all its recent hype and we were both curious about the movie. ( We had not read the books either). It was a great movie, great cast, and although it was a little disturbing seeing children dying, it was nice seeing in the end that love conquers all.
