Fashion Show and HauteLegs

On Monday I attended the Femme Press Fashion Show sponsored by the City College of San Francisco at The Cellar.
My outfit for the event:

Black Trench Luii, Red and Black A-Line Dress Prabal Gurung for Target, Ulltra Black Pumps Steve Madden, Quilted Bag and Bow Ring Forever 21, Tights C/O HauteLegs I wore the dress and had a cardigan on for work during the day, but changed the look up after work for the show. I added the trench and the tights courtesy of Haute Legs. I wanted to be warm but I didn’t want my leg wear to be boring. I love the detail these tights have and I am excited to share a few more posts in the near future of tights I received from them.
In case you are interested, HauteLegs is a legwear subscription service based in San Francisco. When you visit their site, you fill out a style profile to let them better understand what legwear will suit you. Then you choose your subscription package, and before long you’ll be enjoying 3 new pairs of beautiful legwear. There is a banner on my sidebar with an offer code: Free Pair in case you’d like to try the service out. I am not making any money off new subscriptions, but I love the concept and product and want to get it out there. I absolutely love the pairs I received and cannot wait to style them!
The tights I am wearing are pretty awesome not only because they are unique, but also because they actually fit into the theme of the Fashion Show I attended. Just look at a few of dresses from the collection!

Notice the connection? Sheer panels! Super obvious right? The other similarity is all the photos had black clothes, but you get bonus points if you guessed the first answer. I felt so on trend at the show with my tights and am glad I added them at the last minute.

New Girl

Kristie 3/4 Sleeve Pleated Red Skater Dress Boohoo| Bow Ring Forever 21 | Flats Steve MaddenI have been MIA as of late with my posts, and unfortunately not very productive either.
I vegged out this weekend and watched an entire series of a Korean Drama Stars From the falling Sky and caught up on all the latest episodes of New Girl. The things I did that I felt were remotely productive were laundry and posting more items for sale on Poshmark.
In honor of catching up with New Girl, I thought I’d share my outfit from last Monday. I bought this dress from Crossroads Trading Co. because it reminded me of Jess’s Skater Dress from the opening credits. I found out on WWZDW.com  the dress was from Zara, but this dress is also featured as one of the look-a-likes. I love the feminine shape and bright red color. It is also a nice stretchy material too. The patent belt also adds a nice touch to the whole look.
I will be attending a fashion show Monday night, so look out for some updates on Instagram!

Turquoise Bubble Necklace

White Shirt Dress and Belt BCBG Generation | Turquoise Bubble Necklace Charlotte Russe | Cardigan H&M | Black Patent Peep-Toe Flats Steven by Steve Madden
Spring is here! And what better way to greet it than with a classic white shirt dress. I kept my outfit pretty simple with the black and white color pallet, but opted to wear a turquoise bubble necklace that I found at Charlotte Russe this last weekend. I feel this color will be everywhere this Spring and I wanted to add a pop of color to this outfit. I’ll need to pair this necklace with my dress from my last post to repeat the color combo of the skirt and top I had styled for me at the LookMazing event with the Madewell clothing. Coral and turquoise just work wonderfully together!
What trends are you excited about this Spring? Let me know in a comment and share your latest Spring look. I can’t wait to see your posts!Brandy| BLOGLOVIN | FACEBOOK |  INSTAGRAM |TUMBLR | TWITTER |

My favorite look styled by Britt: Love the orange skirt with the turquoise top and jean jacketBlogger Meet Up: Elise from WTFAB, Kathleen Carla from Inspirafashion and Chandahmeer from Pancake StackerWhit to my left and Britt to my right. Their personalities are just as fun and bubbly like their blog!
Last nite I attended the LookMazing and Madewell  private shopping party and met up with featured stylists Britt and Whit from the Britt and Whit blog.
I found the private party invite through LookMazing’s Facebook page and was intrigued to meet these two SF fashion bloggers. I am always interested meeting other bloggers in the bay area and I have loved their blog for some time now. I recommend you check it out. Two best friends, who do not live together, share their take on fashion while living in San Francisco. It is a great concept and I love that they have each other to support one another with their blog. They are just as bubbly in real life as they are on their blog so I’d definitely recommend checking them out.
The private party was located at the Madewell store at the Westfield Shopping Center in SF. RSVP-ing gave you access to cupcakes and champagne as well as the option to be styled by either of the two bloggers. To sweeten the deal, guests also received 20% off their purchase of $125 dollars or more. LookMazing was also promoting a contest by taking photos of the looks you were styled in with Madewell items. Currently that is going on now on their Facebook Page and you can like either my look with the red dress here or the turquoise top and orange skirt look here so I can win a $50 gift card. (I need it to buy that denim jacket and not feel guilty about the price lol!) Feel free to vote for any of the other looks you like in their photo album as well.
I had a blast seeing familiar faces and making new friends. I also enjoyed being styled by someone else. I am so used to knowing what works for me that hearing another person’s suggestions was actually eye-opening for me. It definitely makes you consider other items you never would have for yourself but actually turns out to look great on you. I’d love to try styling others some day and see if that is a career path I’d be interested in. Patricia Field, costume designer renowned for her work with Sex and the City, makes it look so easy. She created such iconic looks and even though it looks easy, it must be a tough gig.
As for my outfit for the event, I wore something inspired by the Spring weather we are finally having in the Bay. The J.Crew dress was thrifted from Goodwill. I got a pedicure (and haircut over the weekend) and finally busted out some open-toe heels. I found the Manolo Blahnik’s on eBay and also have them in purple but in a velvet material (can’t wait to wear those too!) I wanted to wear something feminine and colorful as an ode to the Britt and Whit blog. The two girls are wonderful ladies and I am so glad to have met them.
Thanks to everyone that made it out and glad I got to meet you!
Until next time,,Brandy| BLOGLOVIN | FACEBOOK |  INSTAGRAM |TUMBLR | TWITTER |

Silver and Black

Silver and Black Dress Christopher Deane, Silver Baxen Wedges Jimmy Choo, Jackie Ohh II Sunglasses Ray-Bans, Rings Forever 21Today’s post title is inspired by the silver and black detail of my dress. I found this gorgeous dress at the Shop it Like It’s Hot event hosted by Chictopia back in January. I tried the dress on and was wearing these wedges. I felt like it was a match made in heaven because of all the sparkle!
I wore this dress to celebrate Mando’s 24th birthday! He dressed up and wore a grey long sleeve shirt and classic black slacks. I wanted to match and choose this dress because it felt very dressy but also perfect for the warm weather. We spent the morning at the Farmer’s Market in Jack London Square and made our way to Lake Merritt. We both took photos together to use for a project he is working on for class. This specific photo shoot was done at Lake Merritt, but being in the East Bay made me also think of the team colors of the Oakland Raiders. Most football teams have great color combinations, and the Oakland Raiders team is no exception. All throughout winter I wore this color combo and I love that I can still translate it into my Spring wardrobe.
I am looking forward to wearing more dresses (and open-toed heels!) in bright colors for Spring. What are you looking forward to wearing this Spring with the warmer weather? Let me know with a comment below and share your latest look too!

Dear Miami

Blue Top Calvin Klein, Hot Pink Skirt Banana Republic, Trench Coat Viktor & Rolf + H&M, Purse Coach,  Ulltra Nude Pumps Steve Madden, Colorful Bangles Forever 21, Sunglasses Diane Von FurstenbergMy post title refers to Miami because a coworker of mine said that my bright colors would suit the location perfectly. It was one of the best compliments today because it made me feel like a jet-setter, going off to travel to some clubs near Miami Beach.
I am wearing really bright shades of blue and pink and added more color with the bangles. The pumps, trench and bag were added to compliment the bright colors.  I know I am wearing the same trench coat from my last outfit post, but I am relying on this trench to encourage more use of color with my daily wardrobe selections this Spring. I typically make the excuse that I have to wear black or dark clothes because my shoes and jacket/coat are black, but now I have to wear color because of this trench coat. I am really happy with this look and love how I re-purposed the top and pumps from an interview outfit here into this fun look.
I wore this for a happy hour I attended to meet other young, professional women in the bay area. I had a great time was glad my outfit was able to transition from work to grabbing a couple of cocktails. I can also see this as an outfit to travel (to Miami of course!!). Be prepared as you might be seeing this skirt more often this Spring. (Special thanks to Paige at Crossroads for assuring me this skirt was a staple for my wardrobe and I would be wearing it often ! =])
Thanks for reading and Happy Administrative Professionals Day!
