Trench Coat Love

Trench Coat Viktor & Rolf, Purple Wrap Dress Diane Von Furstenberg, Glitter Peep-Toe Wedges Jimmy Choo, Peacock Earrings and Love Ring Forever 21, Sunglasses DG
I can’t believe how quickly the week is flying by! This outfit post is from last week, but now that the sun is out I feel like I can’t just post something from this week without giving this look the attention it deserves.
I have always steered clear of any coat that was not black because I have always been the type to want everything to match. It seemed almost unreasonable to own anything that didn’t fit my black and white scheme. Since purchasing this trench coat my mind has changed completely! You could almost say it was love at first sight! (It even has heart details!)
I love that this trench coat has transitioned seamlessly into my wardrobe. It is the perfect coat to wear over my spring dresses like this DVF purple wrap dress. I love the color, shape, and feel of the material. This is another one of my purchases from Crossroads Trading Co. and I am never disappointed with the items I walk out with. I have been keeping with my resolution of being more sustainable with my shopping habits and aside from the jewelry, my outfit is composed of gently used goods. (Even the Jimmy Choos which I snagged on eBay!) The coat is something I found at Goodwill, so at this point I feel like a lucky shopper. I am always able to find amazing things for a good price. That is also a negative because I end up having an overflow of clothes spilling out of my closet and the hubs says nothing unless it gets in his way. (I am so lucky he understands, but he is always questioning why I keep shopping!)
I am looking forward to wearing more cute dresses (and fun shoes) for Spring. I am also slowly cleaning out my closet so make sure to check out my Poshmark account @ pandycakes to shop clothes that you may or may not have seen on the blog.
Thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of the week. (It is almost over!!)

Fashion and Comedy

Blazer 7 for All Mankind, Top and watch Marc by Marc Jacobs, Skirt, bracelets, and purse Forever 21, Leggings H&M, Zeda Boots Madden Girl
Happy Friday Lovelies!
I have so many outfit photos on my camera at the moment and I have only posted 2 of them  from this week! I am very behind in a way, but I have felt lately that each outfit really needs more than just 15 minutes of fame in the blogger world. (That and I have been really busy as of late which is why I have not been consistent.)
Let me just say I survived my first week in my new position at the office. I feel I am being let off easy because I came in with a lot of baggage in the form of running projects I am wrapping up this month, so I can only imagine what it will be like once I start being handed more responsibilities for my position. I have already been given a few new tasks to complete so next week should be interesting.
But back to the fashion. This outfit is from Tuesday and I chose to wear this for a comedy show at the Punch Line Comedy Club called Comedy Stylings hosted by Comedienne and Vintage Fashion Blogger Mary Van Note . I shared a couple of pictures on Instagram at the event but could not take any during the show. It would have been hard for me to take clear photos anyways because I was laughing so hard. I enjoy Fashion but I am also a big fan of comedy. I listen to so many comics on Pandora frequently enough that I eventually memorize their bits. I had never thought about combining my two interests, so I had no idea what to expect when I decided to attend this show. Comics doing stand up in their favorite outfit – turns out it was a brilliant combination! I am now inspired to visit more comedy clubs in the bay area. I will let you know if I hear of any good shows so make sure to follow me on Twitter @willbakeforshoe for updates.
Thanks for reading lovelies and don’t forget to follow me on Bloglovin too!

XO,

First Day at Work

Geometric Print Trumpet Dress Diane Von Furstenberg (here) | Black Cardigan Forever 21 | Tights Chinese Laundry | Ulltra Nude Heels Steve Madden My outfit for Monday for my first day of work!
Despite working at the same office for about 3 years, Monday was my first day in my new permanent position. I was relocated to another cubicle far away from the front desk which I was initially hired to assist almost 3 years ago. The change has been a little surreal and I am still adjusting to my new space, but it is a lot nicer in comparison to the space I had before. I especially enjoy that I have natural sunlight beaming in throughout the day. (I will have to share photos of my new space on Instagram because I had more freedom to decorate the space and make it my own with nicer furniture.)
I had my welcome party in the morning and “met” my coworkers, so I wanted to dress up. I opted to wear a dress that I purchased using the Poshmark app. This has been my first (and so far only) purchase using that app and I am addicted to it. I enjoy browsing other girl’s listings and listing items I no longer love as much as I used to. I was lucky to find this DVF dress. It has a fun print and a feminine shape, so it was love at first sight!  I would have worn this without the tights and the cardigan had it not been so windy. I could see myself wearing this dress again so hopefully you don’t get too bored of it when I wear it over and over again.
Overall, my first day was not too bad. I know I have a lot to learn and I am ready for the challenges that lie ahead. I will be best equipped with a dress and heels, so expect more posts like this with the changing weather minus the tights. =D

Can’t Always Get What You Want

Cropped Jacket Younique, Shirt Wet Seal, Pleated Skirt Everly, Flats Fairy Tales Come True,  Necklace Forever 21, Sunglasses Diane Von Furstenberg
This week has been a little crazy.

Not only did I find out I have a new job that I’ll be starting on Monday, my dad also had surgery.

I spent most of it traveling back and forth from Salinas to Berkeley in order to be there for my dad. The day before I left to Salinas I found out I had been hired for one of the two positions I had applied for last month. I should have been overjoyed except I felt nothing but disappointment because I did not get the position I initially applied for. Needless to say, the timing was not the best when I was already feeling worried about my dad’s pending surgery.

I know I should feel grateful to even have a job soon after graduating from college during a period of high unemployment, but it is only natural to feel disappointment when we don’t get what we want. Even though I am now feeling pretty excited with the new opportunities this other position has in store for me, it was important for me to feel unhappy instead of pretending everything was okay. I feel I have matured and grown up a little from this experience. In some ways I am glad I did not get the other position because I know the best candidate was chosen. Often times people feel entitled to things and cannot accept a loss, but it is important to understand we don’t always get what we want, and sometimes it is a good thing.

My dad’s surgery went well and I officially start my new position Monday. I know this text has nothing to do with the photos (which are from St. Patrick’s Day), but I appreciate if you have read this far because I have been absent and wanted to share more about myself than I am used to. I typically share only the positive moments on my blog, but life isn’t always fun. It is what we make of it and I am glad if you are reading about my ups as well as my downs.

Thanks again for reading and following!

Love,

P.S. Don’t forget to check out my Poshmark closet! I’ve added a few items featured on the blog and might be adding the green cropped cargo jacket seen above. I am also adding more items this week so follow me in case you don’t want to miss out!

Meet Up with Blogger Avanti of 2 Eyes for Style

What I Wore: Jacket Marc by Marc Jacobs, Grey Sweater Kenneth Cole Reaction, Jeans, Headband, and Frog Ring Forever 21, Tsunami Black Rain Boots Steve Madden, Scarf via Paris
(Check out Avanti’s Blog for details of what she wore here!)On Monday I met up with fellow blogger Avanti of 2 eyes 4 style. Our meeting involved cupcakes, dinner, and a photo session.
Avanti and I met through Chictopia and we connected since we both live in the Bay Area and are bloggers. She discovered I decorate cupcakes through my blog and asked for samples. Needless I was pretty stoked to have a potential client come to me after checking out my blog! I agreed to meet up with her for dinner and to bring samples of carrot, lemon, and red velvet cupcakes. It looks like I might be decorating her wedding cake and cupcakes for her wedding in the next couple of months, so stay tuned for photos.
We met at Soi 4 Bangkok Eatery on College Ave for dinner and celebrated our meeting and her new job with some cocktails and yummy Thai food. We are matching in our choice to wear grey long-sleeve tops, a black jacket, and jeans. I opted to wear rain boots because it was raining this morning. (Don’t be fooled by all the sunlight in this photo! It was very cloudy earlier that day!)
Not only did our outfits match, but so did our current situations. We had both been going through job interviews which prevented us from meeting sooner. If you follow me on Twitter you’ll have heard that I received an offer for one of the positions I applied for. More on that on my next post!
Our photos came out really well thanks to my wonderful photographer! I almost wish I had worn some fun heels so we could really look like style twins, but alas I wanted warm feet this morning. Make sure to check out her blog as well as she is just as into shoes as I am! (She is wearing leopard print platform pumps after all!)

Until next time,

Easter Sunday

Black Shrug Pink Rose | Dress Maggy London | Flats Steven by Steve MaddenEaster Sunday has always been about dressing our best, regardless of the weather. As I mentioned in last year’s Easter post, my parents would always have my sister and I dressed up like dolls for Easter. Our dresses would always have floral print and for most of my childhood I can recall wearing a bonnet/hat, white gloves, and carrying around a white patent purse. It was simply cute and chic! My parents had raised two boys before they had me and my sister, so they went all out with the girly looks.
Although I am not wearing floral print, I am wearing a dress appropriate for the spring weather. While I was wearing this dress I felt like Charlotte York from Sex and the City: the shape and colors of the dress seem to suit her character so I kept it simple and did not add any jewelry. I wish I owned a pair of hot pink pumps to go with this, but I relied on my patent peep-toe flats to add enough sass to the outfit. I know what I will be shopping for this Spring! (wink, wink)
I was pretty busy baking cakes for the family all day and making cupcake samples for a client I planned to meet up with on Monday so sorry for the late post again! Hope you had a wonderful Easter and don’t forget to follow my blog with Bloglovin!
