Peter Pan Collar Top

Cardigan via Crossroads, Headband, Bangles, and Ring Forever 21, Peter Pan Collar Top and Black Velvet Skirt Erin Fetherston for Target, Black Suede Overpas Boots Steve MaddenLate outfit post from Thursday! This daily savings time change really has thrown off my photo shoot schedule, and it is very difficult to take a photo during the day (except if it is a weekend).
I am in love with all the items that Erin Fetherston designed for her collaboration with Target a few years ago. It was only recently that I started hunting those items down on eBay (such as this top and skirt) at really low prices. Her items draw me in because they are girly and whimsical. You can see me wearing her other items here and here and you will understand why I am almost obsessed with this collection! I admire the detail in this top as well, with its Peter Pan collar, pleats, and satin covered buttons! Very cute tucked in this skirt. It has 3/4 sleeves which I forgot to take photos of. This just means I will have to wear it again soon.
Time to enjoy the 3 day weekend!

Something I have always heard about, but had never been to, are those secret sales where a select few make it to a shopping event where there is an array of designer items usually in sample sizes. I finally had a chance to go such an event thanks to my favorite store Crossroads Trading Co.
Last week I received an email from Crossroads where the first 120 people to RSVP would have a chance to shop the best of their 6 Bay Area stores in one location to be determined in San Francisco.
Needless to say, I RSVP’d almost immediately and today went shopping and met a lot of fascinating people at the event. Among them was fashion blogger Kathleen Murillo from Inspirafashion. She is featured in the invitation to the event as well as in the following photo with a green peplum tank, pencil skirt, leopard pumps, and gold Chanel pin. I took the photo of her because of her cute outfit (and the lovely pin) and did not know who she was until we met while waiting to redeem our free drinks at the bar. She is very talented when it comes to styling clothes, and I would highly recommend visiting her blog. I ended up purchasing one of her picks at the event (a Tory Burch pink printed dress).
The event was held in a ballroom of the Hotel Monaco on Geary Street. There were some pop-up tents used as fitting rooms that reminded me of being at a beach. Waiting in line was not a problem, but I would recommended encouraging ladies to wear leggings and a long tank to such an event (even Black Friday) in order to try things on in the aisle if there is a long line. Of course a line is a great place to socialize, but for a girl on a mission, trying a dress or top right away can prevent carrying an extra item throughout the store and frees up room in your arms for something else.
I had a great time, and it was not my usual Wednesday evening since I am usually at class, but it was well worth the trip and I am glad my plus one (aka Vivian) enjoyed the experience as well!
Hope you enjoyed the photos she and I took and if you have a Crossroads Trading Co. nearby, make sure you visit when you have a chance! You never know what treasures you will find; I found a bunch at this event despite all my socializing, and because of my recent closet clean out, spent less than I had expected when I used my trade credit. Great clothes at affordable prices- Crossroads stores, and pop-up parties, never disappoint.

Floral Print Wrap Dress

Floral Print Wrap Dress  Diane Von Furstenberg, Yellow Blazer Fendi, Floral Print Purse Coach Poppy, Black Patent Ulltra Pumps Steve Madden, Pink Bow Headband Forever 21This is my third time wearing this wrap dress since starting this blog, and I never get tired of it! The only differences from the last time I wore this beauty is my hair and the bright pink headband.
I love floral prints (as you can see from my purse and dress), and the classic black and white combo with a touch of yellow and pink made purchasing this dress a no-brainer. It was one of my eBay splurges, but well worth it since I wore it often enough for the summer. It was a very warm day today,  and its expected to be this way tomorrow too. Even though I feel I can dress cuter when it is warmer, I almost didn’t get my photo taken for my post because of the time change! Luckily I made it home right away in order to have it taken by a skilled photographer. At this rate though, I am going to have to get used to taking my outfit of the day photos earlier.

What to Wear with Boyfriend Jeans

Cardigan It’s Our Time, Ruffle Tank Candies, Jeans and Ring Forever 21, Earrings Gift, Purse Louis Vuitton, Flats J.Crew Another casual day in Salinas! Very happy I visited family and was able to relax a home.
I helped organize my mom’s closet in the morning, and while cleaning it out I found this cardigan and top hidden away. I decided to borrow them and was really happy they worked with these ripped jeans. I wanted to comfortable, but still able to get some cleaning done. I managed to make my boyfriend jeans to look a little girly, especially with the rhinestone brooch details in the shoes as well as with my accessories.
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend and enjoy getting an extra hour of sleep-I know I will!

Black Lace

Cardigan and Vintage Inspired Lace Tunic Twelve by Twelve | Headband, Ring, and Jeans with Lace Side Forever 21 | Suede Bonanza Boots Steve Madden  New lens! It’s a nifty-fifty (50mm) What do you think of the photos?
I felt like wearing jeans today, but I wanted something dramatic. This vintage inspired top and jeans fit what I was looking for this morning. Did not rain, but I am expecting it to soon. I really want to buy rain boots and knee-high socks for the rainy season to keep my look fresh. Otherwise I’ll be wearing the same Coach rain boots all the time.
The top really directed my choices for accessories. I wanted to go for glam and girly despite all the black. I think I hit the mark. I cannot believe it is already November! Time is moving by so fast, so I better enjoy the Fall weather while I can.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Black Shift Dress Céline (similar style here) | Oversized Earrings Style & Co. | Black Jackie-OOH II Sunglasses Ray Bans, Long, Black Gloves Icing by Claire’s | Black Patent Ulltra Pumps Steve Madden |  2 long strands of Faux Pearls (overlapped) Flea Market | Rhinestone Bow Pin Forever 21 | Cigarette Holder Spirit Halloween StoreI made it back from my class early and had time to post! So Happy Halloween. Despite not having somewhere fun to go, I managed to find a work-appropriate costume for work. Here is my version of Holly Golightly from the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s. This was one of Audrey Hepburn most iconic roles, as it she even launched the little black dress into its on icon status. (Coco Chanel “invented” it in 1926, but Audrey Hepburn’s role brought it back to life in 1961 and it has remained a style staple in everyone’s woman’s closet.)
This little black dress was thrifted, and it is Céline! Imagine my surprise finding a designer dress for less than $10! This is one of the first times I put a costume together with items I already had, and I only bought the gloves and cigarette holder to complete the look.

So happy with the outfit, and I even had compliments from strangers when I wore my princess trench coat over my costume. It was not too far a stretch from my typical work wear attire. I see a lot of future use for this dress, and even the gloves can be re-purposed for a special event!

Hope you had a fun and sweet Halloween!
