Jewel Tone Florals

Raspberry Pink Cardigan Forever 21 (here) | Forest Green Floral Tank Diane von Furstenberg (here) | Dark Wash Jeans Forever 21 | Tianna Suede Boots Steve MaddenSince I started this blog, I realize how much my style is evolving. I discover that I really have a weakness for florals and prints more now than before.
I used to just invest in basics. This top proves it is worth going outside of your comfort zone and trying something new. It is a rich, green color and has some jewel tones, which worked well with my pink cardigan.
I usually have a hard time figuring out what to wear with the suede boots (which are not really grey). This top actually matches them! I’ve had them for years, and this top finally came along two weeks ago to be worn with them.

Olive Green Dress

Olive Green Strapless Tolara Dress Diane von Furstenberg (here) | Brown Signature Print Messenger Bag and Wedges Coach (Bag here) | Peacock Necklace Forever 21 | Belt H&MI dressed so inappropriately for the first day of October (which was why there was no post)!
I wore a long-sleeve t-shirt and jeans on Monday, and was a sweaty mess by the end of the day because of the unexpected heat wave. I dressed a little more prepared for the weather today, and look like I don’t belong in a cubicle. I belong in a tropical resort, or in the dessert (like in Vegas). All I would need is a floppy hat to really complete the look.
The belt I choose this time almost matches my skin perfectly. It look like I was showing some serious skin. For a strapless dress without boning (or a corset top) wearing a belt also provides support and keeps the dress up. Another modification from the last time I wore this dress was tucking in the piece of fabric on top and wearing my peacock necklace. Almost looks like it is a part of the dress.
A green dress like this cannot go wrong with dark browns and navy accessories.

Green Summer Dress

Green and White Striped Halter Dress Alice + Olivia | Beige Belt via Crossroads Trading Co. | Flats Steve Madden | Bag  Unknown | Turtle Ring Full TiltFortunate to have some summer weather this weekend!
Luckily I still have not packed away my summer dresses away yet, and this particular halter dress had been in my closet for awhile, unworn (and still new with tags).
I paired it with my white flats, and to give my body some shape I added the beige belt. The tote completed the look, and even though I went grocery shopping, I look like I could easily fit into a crowd at  farmer’s market. That, or going to a picnic!

Peasant Top

Kimono Sleeve Peasant Top, Tank Top, and Chandelier Earrings Forever 21 | Jeans Anchor Blue | Gold Metallic Flats Madden Girl
Today’s activities included me babysitting my 2 nephews and niece. I decided to take them to the park, which led to me wear some jeans for the day. I wanted to wear an easy-going top, so I opted for the Peasant blouse. After that, the earrings fell into place because I wanted to wear some jewelry, but nothing I could lose easily.
To change it up, I would wear the blouse with some cut-offs, short boots, and feathers for a true bohemian look.

Dress as a Top

Raspberry Pink Cardigan, Tan Bow Flats, and Pink Bow Ring Forever 21 | Yellow and Pink Ruffle Dress (worn as top) Rebecca Taylor | Blue Skinny Jeans J BrandThis is a very strange blog post, and it is exactly what you think. My top is actually a dress and I have worn it before here. Tucking the dress in these jeans and having my hair pulled back gave off a retro vibe (I was aiming for a seventies look with the bright colored “top”).

Often times when people think of wearing a dress again, changing the accessories is the first thought when it comes to reworking it. This post shows there is always the option of tucking into a pair of jeans, or into a skirt, for an entirely new look. Perfect if you are on a budget or traveling and need to to rework the clothes you have packed with you.

Green Shirt Dress

Green Leaf Print Shirt Dress Diane von Furstenberg | Jean Jacket Heritage 1981, | Cream  Bow Espadrilles Wedges Wet Seal | Moving Turtle Ring Full Tilt Here is my Tuesday Outfit!
Today I was inspired by my green shirt dress. I wanted my relaxed, weekend look to carry over to work, and I picked this easy, work-appropriate dress. The skirt hits well below the knee and is long sleeved. Pairing it with my cropped jean jacket and wedges helped give the appearance that I looked taller.
This dress is interesting because halfway it has the option to wrap the top around your waist. My midriff could be showing, but because I was wearing it to work, I opted against that option. I love the large leaf print and the full skirt.  I felt very bohemian chic because of how easy the look was to put together and pull off. I could see myself wearing the dress again for the weekend, going to a flea market, or even to a picnic.
