Cartoon T-Shirt

Grey Bomber Jacket H&M | Graphic Cartoon Tee Disney | Destroyed Jeans Forever 21 |  | Chain Bracelet Borrowed | Belt Express | Black Lo Top Sneakers Converse This was Saturday’s outfit. Went to get some pumpkins with the family at a local pumpkin patch and finished decorating our house later that afternoon. Could not really dress up because of what needed to be done, but I liked my outfit for the day. It worked for being outdoors and getting some cleaning and decorating outside the house. It also was perfect for a trip the movies that night with my sister, niece and nephew. We watched Frankenweenie and we all loved it!
It looks very cool and casual. The t-shirt can easily be kind of blah when paired just with jeans. Here it is working with ripped jeans and my favorite H&M bomber jacket. I feel I needed some more bracelets to really punch up the look, but made do with one of my sister’s chain bracelets. This t-shirt is actually another one of my thrifted finds and it only cost me $1.00! I played this game as a kid, and finding it felt like striking gold. The classic Disney characters (Mickey, Donald, and Goofy) also reminded me of my childhood, which felt fitting for a day spent with the family.
How do you dress up your cartoon t-shirts?

Brocade Print Jacket

Gold Brocade Jacket Christian Dior | Quilted Bag, Black Pants, Earring and Rings Forever 21 | Gold Peep-Toe Ruffle Flats Steve MaddenI am going to stop attempting taking my photo on Wednesdays nights when I have class. 1) It is getting darker earlier and I like taking my photos outside (which will be problematic once it starts raining) and 2) I utilize time before class to finish homework and cram before a quiz/exam. Being a student while working full-time is actually kind of hard.
That being said, I wanted to share Thursdays outfit since it seems worth sharing because of the amazing jacket. I generally prefer Crossroads Trading Co. over Buffalo Exchange, but in this case I make an exception. During my Las Vegas trip in July, I found this amazing gold brocade jacket by Christian Dior at a Buffalo Exchange in Las Vegas. I went thrifting looking for something that sparkled, and I was not disappointed.
My look is kind of edgy today, perfect for going out for some cocktails after a long day at work. (And it was long since I worked an extra hour and deserved the cocktails I had with some coworkers!) I would have loved to wear this 40’s-inspired jacket with heels, but the flats matched the gold on the jacket perfectly (especially with the little ruffles looking like the roses!) I got a couple of mix reviews from co-workers, but the general consensus was that the jacket looked good on me. (yay!)
What would you wear with this jacket?

Chevron Print Wrap Dress

Pink and Tan Chevron Print Wrap Dress Diane Von Furstenberg | Speedy 25 Monogrammed Bag Louis Vuitton | Pink and Gold Earrings Forever 21 | Nude Ulltra Pumps Steve MaddenI don’t feel I have many opportunities to wear this dress. The weather needs to be just right where it isn’t too warm for this type of material, but also not too cold since I don’t have the appropriate coat to wear with it. It is made out of wool material, so perfect to be cozy in while you are out enjoying the Fall weather. Unfortunately for me my only neutral in my closet is black. I am on the hunt for some booties that could work with this dress for the winter and a nice pair of tights. Maybe I will find it the same time I find a nice Burberry Trench coat in a thrift store. Hey, you never know. A girl can dream can’t she?

Kimono Top

Kimono Print Top Wet Seal | Jeans J Brand |  Necklace Forever 21 | Nude Ulltra Patent Heels Steve MaddenThis is a very special top.
It comes from my high school days, and wore it whenever I wanted to to feel trendy. Not many people were wearing kimono tops to class, especially not with jeans and heels. I’ve tried to keep this top in good condition, and despite being a piece that might be considered too trendy, the Japanese-inspired looks were back on the runway, and soon to hit stores like Forever 21 and Wet Seal again. Look for long sleeves, a belt to wrap the top, and a quirky print. If you want to try the Japanese-inspired trend in a smaller dose, try looking for jewelry that has the same feel.
Sometimes storing some pieces you really like are worth holding on to regardless of quality. After all, fashion does repeat itself!

Jewel Tone Florals

Raspberry Pink Cardigan Forever 21 (here) | Forest Green Floral Tank Diane von Furstenberg (here) | Dark Wash Jeans Forever 21 | Tianna Suede Boots Steve MaddenSince I started this blog, I realize how much my style is evolving. I discover that I really have a weakness for florals and prints more now than before.
I used to just invest in basics. This top proves it is worth going outside of your comfort zone and trying something new. It is a rich, green color and has some jewel tones, which worked well with my pink cardigan.
I usually have a hard time figuring out what to wear with the suede boots (which are not really grey). This top actually matches them! I’ve had them for years, and this top finally came along two weeks ago to be worn with them.

Black Wrap Dress

Black Wrap Dress Diane von Furstenberg | Bracelets Forever 21 | Panda Charm Necklace Betsey Johnson | Purse Mulberry for Target | Black Patent Pumps Steve MaddenToday I felt inspired by Audrey Hepburn. I felt like I didn’t want to put to much thought into my look, but wanted to look chic today. This little black dress and minimal jewelry fit the criteria. The girly touches like the bow in the bracelet and the dress keep it from looking too serious.
Hope you had a lovely, and chic, Monday!
