Geek Chic

Trench Coat Banana Republic, Sweater Vest Gucci, Cropped Trousers The Factory, Flats Jimmy Choo, Sunglasses Diane von Furstenberg, Computer glasses Ray-Bans, Watch Marc by Marc Jacobs, Satchel JustFAB!,
Last week was almost a blur to me. I had a cupcake order for Wednesday that kept me busy early in the week for a trunk show by Sasha Maks at the Beauty Company in SF. Here is a peak of what I made on Instagram here. I spent the weekend socializing by going to a housewarming on Saturday and then spent Sunday at a rooftop in SF with my fellow blogger friends. I did wear the button down shirt with another sweater on Saturday, and it’s definitely gotten a lot of wear in the past few weeks.
I’ve never really invested in a classic button down and I am kind of surprised with myself for going so long without one. I found this one at the Banana Republic Factory Store and it is in a soft wash. It is the perfect layering piece and I’ve worn it 3 to 4 times already. I loved that I was able to pair it with a vintage Gucci sweater vest I found at Crossroads Trading Co. almost 6 months ago. I wanted to work out a chic geek look with my argyle print sweater and paired it with my capri trousers from The Factory sale. I don’t wear my specs unless I am work in front of my computer, but thought they fit with my geek chic look.
I recently invested in this trench coat too (also from the Banana Republic Factory Store) and it has worked so many of my Spring outfits that my biggest challenge is not wearing it.  I have taken a few outfit shots with it, so expect to see it throughout the month. Hope you are having a great start to your week and until next time!

Shopping on the Weekends

Jacket BB Dakota, Sweater Take Me Out, Jeans and Necklace Forever 21, Black and Beige Cross Body Purchased in Harajuku, Sunglasses Diane von Furstenberg, Pink Spiked Adena Flats Sam Edelman  Found via PoshmarkWhen I am home for the weekend in the Bay Area, I spend most of my time on my phone on Poshmark: either listing something from my closet or sharing items to parties. That is true wherever I go, but this last weekend I took a bunch of photos to serve as my cover shots and listed a lot more items in my closet. I finally have made it over 300 listings! (Whoo!) Even though I try to sell on the App, I have made a few purchases of my own. One of my favorite purchases is my Sam Edelman spiked pink Adena flats. They are so comfy and the spikes add just the right amount of toughness to the otherwise sweet flats. I found these under the Haley’s closet (username: hellylayman). Check out her other awesome pieces.
These photos were taken by the fountain near the Paragon Outlets in Livermore. There are so many cool outlet stores in this location. I bought my sunglasses from The Bloomingdales Outlet Store here almost a year ago. Loved that I got them on sale too! I do spend a lot of time shopping, but it is more window shopping than anything else. I’ve been lucky to make some fun money on Poshmark by selling items I no longer wear and hopefully you might be inspired to try it too. There are a lot of ways to make extra cash with your old clothes, but I’ve especially enjoyed the community and interface on Poshmark. If you are ever interested in taking a peak into my closet, feel free to do so here.
On a side note: I am sponsoring an event this week by providing cupcakes. If you are in the Bay Area and want to enjoy some sweets while meeting other fashionistas interested in fashion start ups, sign up on Eventbrite here.

Love Red

Cardigan Express | Red Skater Dress Zara (similar here) | Jasmin Patchwork Flats Coach | Love Ring Forever 21 (similar here)This outfit is kind of a throwback for today since these photos are from last Thursday. I had to dress up a little for a luncheon at work, but had to be able to move around since I was tasked to take photos during the lunch (hence, I was limited to wearing flats). I have been appointed the unofficial photographer for all of our office events and its really made me thankful for investing in a DSLR camera. Maybe if the event isn’t a ways away from our office, I’ll be the unofficial office photographer in heels!
I wore this red number because Valentine’s Day was approaching, but I have to say I just really, REALLY love this dress! It is perfect for my height, shape and suits my skin tone perfectly! I’ve worn it before recently and it should be telling of how much I love this dress if I am willing to wear it again so soon. I can’t wait to remix it again with some bolder choices since the times I’ve worn it I’ve only gone with neutral shades. Every style book refers to owning a little black dress in your closet, but a little red dress is definitely a must have in my book.
Hope you are having a great week so far! Until next time,

Burberry Black Dress

Tan Cardigan Express (similar here) | Black Dress Burberry (here) |Red Bow Belt Forever 21 | Red Suede Heels Steve Madden (similar here)I don’t think I say it enough, but Crossroads Trading Co. is my favorite place to shop. I love to go digging for designer pieces at thrift stores, but Crossroads does half of the work for you by curating their selection with current, fashionable pieces and must-have designers. Case in point: this little black dress by Burberry that I scored 2 weeks ago. Classic and Chic: I can never say no to great black dresses and right now my Poshmark closet has a few listed since I have so many in case you need one for the office or a special event, including this exact dress.
I love the Burberry nova check pattern underneath the collar of the dress and used that as my inspiration for the rest of the outfit. I paired it with a neutral cardigan and the red belt and shoes. I was originally going to wear the same pumps in nude so my belt and shoes would not match, but the red shoes looked a lot better. Red is a neutral I have fully adapted into my wardrobe, so I feel like you can never go wrong with red accents in your outfit.
Speaking of red, I am so excited that it is now February and that chocolate will be marked down on the 15th! But before that, it will be Valentine’s Day which means it’ll be time to wear anything heart print, red, or pink. Will you be wearing anything festive for Valentine’s Day, or as my sister calls it, Single Awareness Day? Let me know!

A Date by the Pier

Armando and I made a date to together in San Francisco last Monday. We both had the day off and decided to walk around near Pier 39. We passed by all the shops and street performers and discovered the Maritime National Museum at the Hyde Street Pier. Admission was free that day so we toured the ships docked as part of the museum. Afterwards, we made our way to Ghiradelli Square to split an ice cream sundae. For lunch,we had clam chowder, calamari, and crab cakes at a restaurant along Fisherman’s Wharf.

Once we made it back to Pier 39, we walked in and reached the carousel. I originally thought my outfit photo should be taken with the ocean in the background, but the colors of the carousel worked with my outfit really well! It also looked fun which is the look I was going for when I was getting dressed this morning. I was really happy about being able to spend time with the man behind the lens. It isn’t everyday that we get to hang out and not worry about work/school. We had a blast together and he was dressed cute too but he is a little camera shy and doesn’t let me take his outfit photo…yet.
Hope you all had a fun weekend and until next time,Brandy| BLOGLOVIN | FACEBOOK |  INSTAGRAM |TUMBLR | TWITTER |

Spumoni Ice Cream Flavor

Shrunken Blazer H&M | Pleated Top Alice + Olivia, Belt Vintage | Pleated Tri-Color Skirt LE TOTE | Bangles Forever 21 | Ulltra Nude Pumps Steve Madden | Nude Satchel c/o JustFab!I threw this outfit on earlier this month while the weather was still nice and warm. I was actually a little unsure of it since I felt I had too many different shades of nude. I worked around the skirt and surprisingly a lot of people responded positively to this outfit. Sometimes I just want to experiment with my closet, but it is nice to know when you have a hit.
The skirt was what stood out to people and I would mention it was a rental from LE TOTE. I sent it back since Fall was just around the corner and my closet is overflowing with unworn purchases, but something tells me I should have kept the skirt. It stood out from all the black skirts I have hanging in my closet and loved how girly the skirt made me feel! The colors were also very unique and I tried to imitate the shades with my bracelets from Forever 21. (The entire outfit reminded me of Spumoni ice cream on a cone, which might explain why people liked my outfit!)
I am going to miss wearing all my summer clothes, but I am excited for Fall and being able to wear boots and coats again! Don’t start feeling the winter blues just yet! I have a few more outfits I need to share since the weather was a lot warmer at the beginning of the month so look forward to that.
