I had a lovely day and evening for my 22nd birthday. I felt sophisticated and cool, and prepared to take on the new year.
During lunch, two of my coworkers treated me to some Japanese food. It was delicious and I was surprised I ate it all. I was so full, but they joked I needed the food because of all the drinking they believed would ensue later that evening.
I had a little happy hour get together with my coworkers after work, and it was so much fun! We drank some cocktails and had a lot of laughs. Luckily I do not drink too much so there was no worry of me getting sick to my stomach. It was a nice way to celebrate with my work family.
Afterwards Mando treated me to dinner at Five Restaurant, a bistro and bar that is part of the Shattuck Plaza Hotel in Downtown Berkeley. The food was excellent and I even got a free ice cream sundae for my birthday!
Pardon my photos if it seems to focus sole-y on the shoes. (Pun intended). I do love these heels and I feel slightly dangerous in them. Definitely lets loose the inner rebel like a motorcycle jacket would.
I enjoyed the hotel’s restaurant and the ambiance. I am really glad I finally had dinner here and took photos in the lobby.
While I am sad my birthday is only celebrated for one day, it is time to enjoy the rest of this year and accomplish my birthday resolutions by this time next year!

Anna Sui x Target Dress

Blue Printed Dress Anna Sui for Target | Heart Pendant Forever 21 | Black Patent Ulltra Pumps Steve MaddenHeaded down to Salinas to spend my birthday weekend with my family. I feel like today’s outfit is especially quirky and cute. I love the blue color, and I chose it to match the frosting of the cake my mom picked up for me.
I found this little beauty at Crossroads Trading Co. marked down. So much cheaper than when it was at Target or on Ebay. The color is so rich and the shape flatters my petite height. Anna Sui was inspired by Gossip Girl when creating this collection. I could definitely see myself wearing it walking down the streets in New York. This dress works in the winter too with black tights and black thigh high boots.

Yellow and Red

Back to dressing up again. After two days of wearing jeans, Converse, and a T-Shirt, I felt the need to put on a skirt and look a little girly.

I was inspired by fall colors, and I ended up taking my photos by a DHL delivery truck. It was an interesting coincidence to be wearing the same colors as the truck. I would never think of wearing red and yellow together, but somehow the combination works. I used the red polka-dot details in the yellow DVF top to pair it with my red high waist skirt. Black felt like a good neutral to tie the whole look together.

Cardigan, Pants, and Necklace Forever 21 | Pink Silk Marston Top Diane Von Furstenberg (here) | Black Peep Toe Patent Wedges Steve Madden Today I felt like I needed an easy breezy look. Something pulled together, but not restrictive when it came to movement. It was cold this morning as well, I wasn’t in the mood to wear any of my dresses.
Enter this versatile and voluminous pink top. I have worn in tucked into a skirt, but I must say I love the casual vibe it gives off by being untucked. I can also wear it with a black sash to give it an empire waist effect! This top is super cute and one of my finds from Crossroads Trading Co. I love that I can find such high end pieces there on a budget and can incorporate them with my finds from Forever 21.

For some reason it curled a little in front, but it still looked like I did that on purpose.
This morning was really stressful, but luckily things were resolved by the end of lunch. Tomorrow will be even better as I plan to go to a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert! Woo Hoo! Look out for another edgy look Wednesday (unless I can post it tomorrow by some miracle).
