Graduation Part 1

Once again I walked the line for Berkeley’s General Commencement. While I did technically finish up in the Fall, I felt I was closer to the Class of 2012.
It was an interesting ceremony, and I did not stay until the end of the ceremony (the name calling took 2 hours long), but I liked a lot of what our guest speaker Dr. Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, said.
The most important lesson I took away from his speech was learning to say “Yes.” Being optimistic and willing to try new things and meet new people. That and what type of future do you dream for the world around you.
I personally dream of an end to poverty, which might sound weird when all I blog about is designer clothes I thrift and seem to have an endless amount of. While at times I feel I am a little materialistic, I am always thankful for what I have gained in my life. I was lucky to be born into a hard-working family, meet great friends, and be able to earn the things I buy.
I am most thankful to have been able to attend the college of my dreams, and while I am uncertain about my future, I can still control what I do, and I hope I can do something that will be meaningful to me as well as for other people.

Despite it being the weekend, I feel like I did not rest up enough in order to better handle the coming work week. I did have fun and was able to relax, but maybe because of all this sun I am ok with lying down and sleeping somewhere.
I did have fun getting dressed today, and I like the mixture of high and low end pieces. My favorite outfits usually consist of a variety of brands and designers in one look because it is more unique and you would not have to worry about running into someone else wearing the exact same thing. I am a huge fan of this top and is the second time it is featured. I would have repeated this top sooner had the weather been nicer. I love the mix of gold and white, and if I could, I would wear whites or white and gold all the time.

Cinco de Mayo

It was the perfect day to wear a colorful maxi dress and get some frozen yogurt from Yogurt Land.
This dress received a lot of compliments, and I think it has to be because of how dramatic it is. This is my first maxi dress I purchased last month, and I found it at a Goodwill, so I didn’t spend too much to try out the trend. I honestly believed it would not flatter me because I am so short (5′ 2″), but I am so glad to be proven wrong! I paired it with a denim jacket (also courtesy of Goodwill) and my seashell belt from Crossroads Trading Co.
Thrift stores can be a hit or miss. Some days I find really great stuff (as seen here) and other times I find nothing I like. I cannot wait to see what other stuff I will find to post here soon.
