Christmas Eve

Anorak Jacket Damselle, Teal Sweater Dress Chloe, Brown Cross Bod Bag Coach, Butterfly Necklace Forever 21, Brown Leggings Wet Seal, Tan Suede Boots “Hoops” Steve MaddenIt is Christmas Eve and I dressed to get some errands done for the day. Gifts needed to be wrapped, dinner ingredients needed to be purchased, and some household cleaning was also necessary.
This is very casual and boho, and tomorrow’s look will be completely different since I plan on dressing up for dinner. Typically our family celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve, but this year things are a little different so other family members can join us for the holiday. Despite looking cozy today, I still felt cold. Tomorrow I hope I am indoors all day only because I want to wear a tutu and open-toe heels!
What did you wear for Christmas Eve? Let me know!

Visiting a Distillery

Cardigan, Belt, and Elephant Bracelet Forever 21, Purple Dress Diane Von Furstenberg, Scarf Marc Jacobs, Patterned Tights Betsey Johnson, Suede Boots Steve MaddenThis has been such a busy week for me! I apologize for my lack of posts, but now I have no more excuses! I finished up my class on Basic Radiation Safety this Wednesday and was completely engrossed in studying that I did not have time to take a photo. I did pass with a high score, so I feel it was worth cramming last minute definitions instead of taking a photo. lol
This outfit is from Thursday, and I spent the evening with some co-workers at St. George’s Distillery for a tour and tastings. I wore comfortable boots, but I wanted to dress in something that could transition from the office to a night out. I have worn this dress before here and here, and I love how it is so versatile. I wore another pair of patterned tights that I purchased from Marshall’s last weekend too. I am wearing a lot of black, so the tights add a little bit of texture to this outfit.
I’ll be catching up with my posts after the holidays. What would you wear to a get-together with co-workers?

Christmas Gift Shopping

Black Pea Coat, Jeans, Knit Beanie and Rings Forever 21 | Black Scarf Marc Jacobs Neiman Marcus x Target| Blue and Black Checkered Top Miley Cyrus & Max Azria | Black Hi Top Sneaker Wedges Zigi Soho (similar here)A cozy outfit to go out Christmas shopping for the holidays. I spent the afternoon traveling back home Friday, but Armando and I stopped by a mall on the way home to avoid traffic driving down 880 and to get some final holiday shopping done. There are plenty of shopping malls when heading down the East Bay, and we happened to stop by the Westfield Mall in Santa Clara.
I wore my new sneaker wedges that I found at Marshall’s last Sunday when I scored all my new tights I mentioned in my last blog post. I love these wedges and feel like I can wear them a ton of my clothes (especially my Members Only Jackets.) They are pretty comfortable and I was in them all day at work. I like that they add quite a bit of height and work as a stand in for booties. I’ve linked a few option to shop below in case you are interested in trying out the sneaker wedge trend.

Just a few more days until Christmas! Have you finished your holiday shopping or are you still scrambling to check off your list? Let me know!

Patterned Tights

Pleated Black Cardigan Merona, Cream Tulle Skirt with Black Bow and Bangles Forever 21, Leaf Patterned Tights Givenchy, Black Patent Ulltra Pumps Steve MaddenI found some really cute Givenchy patterned tights on Sunday at Marshall’s! I was obsessed and spent ours in the hosiery section. They had Givenchy patterned tights on clearance for $3 a pair, and a bunch of cute knee-high socks by Chinese Laundry and Betsey Johnson. I snagged a pair of Chinese Laundry Knee-High fleece socks and cannot wait to wear them under my boots. Before I experiment with cute Knee-High socks I need to try some plain, warm ones first.
Today my look is a little bit ballerina and French inspired. I love how the tights add texture to the outfit. My cardigan is a thrift find, and I am glad I am starting to find sweaters. I need more long sleeve knits or tops to really be prepared for the winter weather. The skirt is from Forever 21 and I remember buying it around this time while Christmas shopping with my mom. We saw this skirt on a mannequin styled with grunge items.  We looked all over the store for it and just when we were about to give up, we found it in the back of a rack. Love how full it is and the little black bow detail. The black tights pop against the color of this skirt too!

Checkered Scarf

Pea Coat, Sweater, Black Jeans, and Elephant Ring Forever 21 | Black Earmuffs Material Girl | White Leather Sneakers Converse | Black and White Checkered Scarf ParisRainy and cold days are no fun. I spent my Saturday cleaning and was not motivated to get dressed up until later in the evening because I had some Christmas shopping to do. Even then, I didn’t make a fuss about my outfit and opted for an all-black look with the goal of being warm and dry.
I repeated the all black outfit today except opted for a white and black checkered scarf. I wore the white sneakers to keep the look from being too dark, and added the large elephant ring for fun! The earmuffs are my favorite part of the outfit because they are keeping my ears really warm on a cold day.
I am pretty excited because I purchased quite a few different pairs of tights today from Marshall’s. Quite a few are patterned, and I can’t wait to incorporate them into my winter wardrobe! I am also looking into buying some fleece-lined leggings after finding fleece-lined knee -high socks today! I spent an hour just in the sock and hosiery area because they had so many options, it was hard to choose just a few styles.
Hope you had a fabulous weekend and are staying warm with scarfs, earmuffs, and gloves!

Company Holiday Party

Green Leopard Print Judy Wrap Dress Diane Von Furstenberg, Black Scarf Marc Jacobs (Neiman Marcus for Target Collection) |  Silver Boyfriend Watch Marc by Marc Jacobs | Jaguar Double Ring Forever 21 | Glitter Peep-Toe Baxen Wedges Jimmy ChooThe office I work at held its annual holiday party, also known as the End of the Year Staff Appreciation Lunch. Holiday party rolls off the tongue a little easier though.
I love to wear wrap dresses, so I chose a green one and decided to wear the Marc Jacobs scarf I purchased over the weekend at Target. I am in love with it and see it paired with more than half of the items in my closet. My Jimmy Choo wedges were also essential because of the glitter. These are my new favorite wedges, especially because of the mirror-wedge detail. When it comes to the holidays, it’s not a festive outfit unless something sparkles! I know people typically wear red sweaters, but I brought red to the party through my cupcakes. I made chocolate fudge cupcakes with peppermint frosting and red sprinkles.
We celebrated the event at Jupiter’s on Shattuck and were entertained with a White Elephant Gift Exchange. This “It is what it is.” plaque is actually a very popular item and everyone that has won it in previous years signs the back with the year they’ve won. It defines where I am in life right now, specifically at this office. I try not to let negative thoughts overwhelm me and tend to laugh at situations I get myself into, but not knowing whether I will have a job after the holiday break can be slightly stressful and takes me out of my usual cheerful mood.
This plaque may be bringing me luck as it is an item I have to bring to the next white elephant gift exchange since it cannot leave our office environment- and might mean me staying on longer! Despite being worried, it can be a comical situation, and I am sure I will look back and laugh whenever I glance at this plaque displayed in my cubical. This situation is not something I can control, and it really is what it is. All I can do is be prepared to wear great shoes so I can end up in a great place.
Now that I am done venting and going from a holiday party to a pity party, what will you be wearing to your company holiday party? Or any holiday party? Let me know!
