I have been a little MIA on my blog, and most of my social media accounts, and that has been true for this past week in particular. I spent last Monday attending a Bikram Yoga class and left work early on Tuesday to bathe in some epsom salt and nap in order for my body to recover.
I spent the rest of the week coming home from the office to practice my design skills on Adobe InDesign. I drafted how a new website should look, one that I am working on as a project for work we hope to launch at the end of April, and also worked on adding some design elements to my resume. The rain has left me pretty uninspired when it comes to what to wear, but luckily Armando snapped this outfit in January before any storms hit.
This wool print Alice + Olivia dress has made its appearance on the blog before, and this time I layered a white button down shirt underneath and wore tights and suede booties. I opted to wear no jewelry to let the print make a statement. I love the print of the dress and I have it listed on my Poshmark closet, but it is a piece  I picked up at Crossraods Trading Co that I am not in a hurry to sell because it is pretty versatile, which is a plus for Winter dress. I feel I’ve been wearing the same thing lately because of the rain, but this dress can have a turtle neck or long sleeve black sweater underneath, or a cardigan over it.
We have some dry days for the coming week, and I am already planning my next outfit. I have a couple of shoes I’ve been wanting to wear, so stay tuned for those!

I didn’t have a lot of time to get ready in the morning since I had a lot to do starting early in the day,  so I pulled out my favorite denim jacket and black ponte pants as a starting point for my look and it all just came together.
This top is making its appearance on the blog for the first time, and it is from Pink Blush.  This knit top has an opening in the back revealing the chiffon layer underneath. It is a fun twist and I can’t believe I forgot to ask for a photo of that, but trust me when I say it is cute.
I have also been wearing my new quote unquote necklace from the last Kate Spade Surprise sale with just about every outfit I’ve worn the past 2 weeks. It is a simple piece, but I love that it is big enough to still make a statement. It’s still available online and on sale.
Valentine’s day is just around the corner! I am debating on whether I’ll bake something this weekend, but more importantly on what to wear. It’s hard not to pick out something red or pink throughout this month. I am hoping I can share my outfit post from last year before the end of the week for some outfit inspiration, but a baking post could always win out. Regardless of what my next post, check out my Valentine’s Day box of mini cupcakes and chocolate heart topped cupcakes.

Kaleidoscope

Navy and Orange Patterned Top Trina Turk | Purple Jewel Tone Skirt Silence + Noise (here) | Gold Tusk Necklace Banana Republic | Navy Suede Ulltra Pumps Steve Madden | Cliff Grey Maise Purse Kate Spade New York | Le Rouge 315 – Framboise Velour  Givenchy (here) |
I helped my sister clean out her closet before she took off to Japan and I stumbled upon this jewel tone pencil skirt by Silence + Noise as part of the items she wasn’t using anymore. I remember finding it for her, and decided it needed to be worn at least once since she hadn’t used it before finding it a new home. I decided to pair it with my Trina Turk top I found recently at Crossroads Trading Co. I love it’s fun print and how the colors tied in with the skirt. The pattern reminded me of what you would see viewing through a kaleidoscope, hence today’s blog post title.
While I like the color of the skirt, I am not in love with the fit. I have it listed under my Poshmark closet in case you want to snatch it up. I am so stoked I’ve made about 8 sales on +Poshmark this month and my goal is to focus on selling everything I have listed in my closet now. Having nice cover shots on the app has helped me when it comes to selling an item and I am hoping to be able to style a few more items for a consistent look. One of the takeaways from Posh Fest was having consistent branding and for me that has been taking photos I have listed as part of an outfit.
I’ll be sharing more tips I learned at Posh Fest in an upcoming post. Stay tuned for that and I hope you are having a great week!

My first outfit post for 2016!
I originally wore this outfit to my office’s holiday party and loved it so much I had to repeat it again for Christmas Eve. The neon light print skirt reminds me of city lights, but when I purchased the skirt I knew I had to wear it during the holidays for its Christmas lights effect. I thrifted my jewel toned top, and it was the perfect compliment to the skirt.
I love the pleats and pockets on this skirt, but it does fit me a little gig in the waist area. I am torn deciding having it tailored or selling it on Poshmark. Because it is the beginning o the year, I am taking a hard look at what is in my closet and preparing to part with things I haven’t worn in years. Having blog photos makes it easier to list items, but also is a great way to see if i truly loved something based on how many times I used it. Follow me on the app (username: willbakeforshoe) to see what I list since quite a few items will be ones I’ve shared on my blog.
I hope your year is off to a great start and I look forward to sharing tips to cleaning out your closet soon!

Last time I shared a baking post and since then I had not been feeling as inspired to blog.
Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of outfits I can wear and plenty of content to share, but not blogging these past two weeks has given me the opportunity to reset and to really think about what this website’s future will look like. I’ve really enjoyed collaborating with brands, but lately it feels like that’s all I get to share instead of my own content. I started blogging as a hobby, and while I am not getting requests to work on things everyday, it adds up since work is involved with any sponsored post. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t want my blog’s success to be measured with the number of sponsored posts I’ve worked on. I also don’t know how I would measure my blog’s success, and that is still something I am trying to figure out for myself.
I got to really enjoy life these past two weeks, primarily because I was present in the moment for get-togethers with friends and family. I wasn’t on my phone as much taking photos or trying to get the perfect shot and caption ready for Instagram. I was really enjoying the company of the people around me and really trying to absorb the holiday spirit. I felt Christmas went by too fast, even without spending too much time on a screen, and feel the year is ending too soon. Despite those feelings, I am ready for the New Year and for the opportunities to take risks and try new things. There are changes I have been thinking about and just need to decide to make them.
And now on to the outfit details:
This outfit is what I wore on Christmas Day. I found the plaid top at Express early in December and managed to pick up the last one in my size. I do not typically pick up button downs, although I realize with this top just how comfy they are. I was on the hunt for a black and red plaid button down, and this was one I liked the most. It isn’t flannel, but I like that this top can be dressed up or down. I paired it with one of my Express skirts I picked up from last year and my red suede DVF heels I scored from Marshall’s.
I picked up some goodies for myself during the last Kate Spade Surprise sale and bought the Skinny Mini Metal headband and Vegas Jewel Bangle along with a few other items as gifts. Signing up to be alerted for Surprise Sales can be dangerous, but it is a great way to find great gifts at a lower price point.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the holidays so far and I look forward to sharing more in the New Year!

Piano Notes

Black Trench Coat Luii | Black Notted V NeckTop  Moschino (similar)  | Faux Diamond Statement Necklace Express | Dance with Music Notes Midi Skirt Chicwish (here) | Piano Key Clutch  Kate Spade NewYork | Black Geometric Bangle Forever 21 (here) | Black Satin Sedaraby d’Orsay Pumps Manolo Blahnik (here) |  Le Rouge 307 Grenat Initie Lipstick Givenchy (here)After a long weekend of Posh Fest, and a week of fun adventures, I am back to sharing an outfit post featuring this fun, pleated skirt from Chicwish.
During the Summer, I picked up a few cute skirts from Chicwish. I bought this black and white music note midi skirt for my sister, but she opted to keep a different music note skirt instead. It was too late to return this one, so I opted to style it and list it on Poshmark. Lucky for me it sold a couple of weeks ago,  and although it had a fun, quirky print I wasn’t sure I would want to wear it more than once, especially since I purchased it for my sister. I wore it to work, but it definitely feels more appropriate for a holiday dinner or date night.
I picked up the Kate Spade clutch at the outlet store located in the San Francisco Premium Outlets. There was an extra percentage off, and I loved the sleek design and fun print. The Manolo Blahnik heels are from The Real Real, and they were a steal! I found another pair listed on their site, in case you want to snatch them up for your holiday party outfits.
I love this red wall that Armando and I found on our way to dinner. Lately I have been in awe of his photography skills. When I think about how we both started out, he definitely was unfamiliar with blogging photography. But now he has it down and doesn’t even take half the number of photos he used to (because they come out great the first time!) I feel really lucky to have his support and to be able to showcase his talent.
Some of the best parts of blogging are taking photos when he is behind the camera. I enjoy those moments because sometimes we will be laughing, I will struggle to keep a pose, or I ask for “one more shot” when he is hungry and tries to rush through a photo shoot so he can go eat. I feel extremely lucky to be on the other end of the lens and for his willingness to help. It is thanks to him I am able to make sales on Poshmark, and I am grateful for his support for the blog and all I do.
I hope you enjoyed this post and are also grateful for someone in your life.
