Pink Bun

Black Blazer, Pink Silk Top and Black Pants Forever 21 | Hashtag Earrings Crossroads Trading Co. | Fold-over Cross body Harajuku | Gold Spiked Beatrix Flats Sam Edelman | Pen Necklace Kate Spade | Spike Ring Crush on CollegeEvery now and then I like to experiment with my hair style, which is why you’ll see me more often with straight hair. I like to try different up-do’s too and I finally tried the sock bun out using a Conair Bun Maker Kit. For my first time, I think it came out pretty well (and looks cute!)
I wanted a girly but professional look to go with the sock bun, so I decided to wear my silk pink top with gold and black detail and paired it with my thrifted blazer. I thought the two pieces would work not only because of the contrast of feminine and masculine pieces, but also because of the gold and black stripe details. I added gold accessories and flats to complete the look. I am loving my hashtag earrings and have worn them a lot in the past few months. They were a find from Crossroads Trading Co. and are now my favorite pair because they go with everything! And, as someone now involved with social media, are also kind of of funny to me.
Hope you are having a great week and see you next time!

Little White Dress

Now with my 40 Days of Blog Series behind us, and a short break, I am back sharing outfits which may or may not feature a DVF piece. I will hopefully be sharing a cupcake recipe soon too since I do bake every now and then. But for my latest post, I decided to share a look of mine from earlier last month that I wore during a heatwave we had in the Bay Area.

I love white dresses despite not owning a lot of them. I found this one at Crossroads and the pictures do not capture how pretty it is. I received a compliment from one of my coworkers that I looked like a Greek goddess with the draped detail in the front and with my gold flats. That compliment made my day! I think everyone admires white clothes but might be afraid to wear them for fear of getting them dirty and not being able to get them to be as white again. But I say, just do it! You’ll be glad you did.

I am hoping to get more wear out of this dress throughout the summer. I almost lost hope for my flats because the soles were completely worn down (and I almost slipped a few times because of that.) Luckily, I took them to a shoe repair shop and the soles look amazing! They now can be worn more often, so expect to see them a lot throughout the summer.

Hope you are having a good Monday and until next time,

40 Days of DVF: Day 40

Pleated Blazer Calvin Klein | Green Leopard Print New Julian Wrap Dress Diane von Furstenberg | Black Legacy Satchel c/o JustFAB! (Buy here) | Panda Charm Bracelet Betsey Johnson | Gold Pen Necklace Kate Spade | Patent Pigalle Heels Christian LouboutinHas it really been 40 days since I started this blog series? It is hard to believe, but I am so ecstatic (and a little sad) that we’ve reached the end.
Today’s post features a dress I’ve shared on the blog before, but it is actually a very special dress. It is the first +DVF dress I fell in love with. One summer I worked at Nordstrom temporarily for their Anniversary Sale, and spotted this dress in the Savvy department. I had heard of the DVF brand before and that the wrap dress was a style staple, but seeing it in the store hanging among other dresses made me want to be the type of woman who wore that dress. Since I was a college student at the time, I was in no position to buy this dress despite working two jobs that summer. I was also saving up to buy my Blue Manolo Blahnik Hangisi heels at the time for my graduation, so getting this dress was out of the question. Still, it was hard forgetting about this dress.
After that summer, I started my senior year and was able to graduate a semester early. I realized I needed a go-to interview outfit, and began browsing eBay for a classic wrap dress. I had bought 2 DVF dresses by then at Crossroads Trading Co., but this pattern was still on my mind. I was lucky that I actually found it at a much lower price. I bought the dress and wore it to an interview I had for a full-time position in the Savvy Department at Nordstrom 2 weeks after my graduation. Unfortunately I didn’t get that job, but when I look back I think that was a good thing. If I had landed that job I would not have ended up at the office I am at now. It started out as a temporary position, but a full-time position was listed and I wore this dress for my interview. I styled it differently from my first interview at Nordstrom, but that wasn’t the only thing that had changed. I was a lot more confident. Without realizing it, I had become the person I wanted to be when I was a student dreaming of wearing this dress. Much like Diane, I owe a lot to this wrap dress for being there me – for the good times and the bad. It helped me during a turning point in my life and has helped grow into the person I have wanted to be. I know I still have a lot of “growing up” to do, so I hope you’ll continue to remain on this journey with me, this dress and my evolving wardrobe.

Thank you for joining me with this blog series and a very special thanks to my talented photographer/partner, Armando for taking all the photos. While I can put outfits together, you are the one that captures them all and I love you for helping me chronicle this series and being the mastermind behind the lens.
On to the next adventure. Until next time,

40 Days of DVF: Day 39

Black Wrap Dress Diane von Furstenberg | Leopard Print Mini Keller Suede Bag Diane von Furstenberg (Buy here) | Champagne Glitter Baxen Wedges Jimmy Choo (Buy here) | Silver Bangles Forever 21Day 39! Can’t believe I am one post away from ending this series!
Today’s outfit features a little black wrap dress and a fun leopard print bag. The bag is from is one I scored on +Poshmark and the dress is one I found at Crossroads Trading Co. The dress was actually one of the first black +DVF dresses I found at a Crossroads. but this is actually my first time wearing it. It looks very elegant, and I love the way the dress ties up like an obi belt. I am still debating whether I want to keep it or if I should list it for sale in my closet  since I own so many black dresses. It is a classic and versatile piece so I might just have to keep it. đŸ˜‰
The shoes were also a thrifted find via eBay. They were originally going to be someone’s wedding shoes, but the person ended up not wearing them. I am glad I’ve been able to wear them a number of times to make them worth the splurge. This look is perfect for a night out for cocktails or a fancy dinner. I’ve been cooking a lot more at home lately, but it is always fun to dress up for a night out.
Thanks for sticking with me this far with this series and I hope you enjoy tomorrow’s post.

40 Days of DVF: Day 38

Gold Elicia Dress Diane von Furstenberg (Buy here) | Denim Jacket Heritage 1981 | White Leather Cross body Coach | White Signature “C” Bracelets Coach | White and Gold Leaf Belt Vintage| Metallic d’Orsay Heels Manolo Blahnik Happy Saturday!
This post is a little later than I wanted, but I had a really busy (and fun) day. I bought this dress in the winter and did not have a chance to wear it until now. I had trouble styling it early in the Spring, so I listed it on Poshmark in case I wasn’t going to wear it. But now, seeing it in these photos, I am tempted to remove the listing so I can wear it again throughout the Summer. I know you must be wondering, after sharing a few items I’ve listed in my closet throughout this series, how I could be making any sales if I can’t let go of my clothes? I simply have a lot of clothes and I have surprisingly let go of a lot. It is nice to be able to rediscover something in your closet and instead of wanting to let it go, wear it. I am grateful that this series is helping me wear what I have and give things a second chance. I am thinking of applying this to the rest of my wardrobe, so maybe this will call for an all new series. Who knows?
Thanks for checking it out this post and join me for the final 2 posts of my +DVF blog series.

40 Days of DVF: Day 37

Green Silk Ariana Wrap Top Diane von Furstenberg | Statement Necklace J.Crew | Black Pants  Anchor Blue | Rose Gold Watch Marc by Marc Jacobs | Black Legacy Satchel c/o JustFAB! (Buy here) | Electric Blue Suede Heels Enzo AngioliniIt’s finally Friday!
Today’s outfit is actually from Monday and posting it today makes me wonder where the week went. I am wearing a Diane von Furstenberg Top I found using a clothing site/App called thredUP. I downloaded the App in November, but started using it in March. I’ve primarily used it to shop, but you can also sell excellent quality clothing using their buying service. I was pretty addicted because it was like thrift store shopping made easy, but I had to scale back my shopping. If you check it out let me know if you find any amazing deals. This top was kind of a steal and I love the color and long sash. You never know what you’ll find when you check out the app. (It is also great for baby and kids clothes if you want to sell clothing or buy like new pieces at half the cost.)
I styled my +DVF top with shiny black pants and equally shiny accessories. I love my Marc by Marc Jacobs watch in rose gold and cannot stop myself from wearing it with everything. I was pretty excited to be wearing my J.Crew necklace today since it is one of the first pieces of jewelry I’ve purchased from there. I also have a pair of earrings I bought that I hope to debut on the blog soon. If you stopped by on Wednesday you’ll notice that my blue suede heels and JustFAB! bag on are on repeat. Usually when I like something I tend to avoid wearing it because I don’t want it to be ruined, but lately I’ve been letting go of that notion. I buy pretty clothes, but I should also wear them.
I am so excited for the weekend to relax and “wrap up” this series. See you back here tomorrow!Brandy| BLOGLOVIN | FACEBOOK |  INSTAGRAM |TUMBLR | TWITTER |
