Jewel Tone Florals

Raspberry Pink Cardigan Forever 21 (here) | Forest Green Floral Tank Diane von Furstenberg (here) | Dark Wash Jeans Forever 21 | Tianna Suede Boots Steve MaddenSince I started this blog, I realize how much my style is evolving. I discover that I really have a weakness for florals and prints more now than before.
I used to just invest in basics. This top proves it is worth going outside of your comfort zone and trying something new. It is a rich, green color and has some jewel tones, which worked well with my pink cardigan.
I usually have a hard time figuring out what to wear with the suede boots (which are not really grey). This top actually matches them! I’ve had them for years, and this top finally came along two weeks ago to be worn with them.

Pink Cardigan

Rose Pink Cardigan Charlotte Russe | Rose Print Top and Birdcage Necklace Forever 21 | Jeans Stella McCartney | Pink Ballet Flats Steve Madden
I did not get a chance to take my photo on Thursday, but to sum up it was a combination of this top and this skirt. I wore a long, black cardigan instead of the pink one and I wore my usual black patent Steve Madden pumps. I loved how tucking in tops to the tutu skirt makes everyone believe it is a dress! I enjoyed the look a lot, so maybe I will wear it again to document it here.
Friday’s outfit is more relaxed. This snug, pink cardigan is very cozy and I am proud I pulled this look together in less than 5 minutes. It is date-worthy, brunch worthy, and baby-sitting appropriate. The colors are soft, and feminine, but the jeans say I can still run around and play!

Olive Green Dress

Olive Green Strapless Tolara Dress Diane von Furstenberg (here) | Brown Signature Print Messenger Bag and Wedges Coach (Bag here) | Peacock Necklace Forever 21 | Belt H&MI dressed so inappropriately for the first day of October (which was why there was no post)!
I wore a long-sleeve t-shirt and jeans on Monday, and was a sweaty mess by the end of the day because of the unexpected heat wave. I dressed a little more prepared for the weather today, and look like I don’t belong in a cubicle. I belong in a tropical resort, or in the dessert (like in Vegas). All I would need is a floppy hat to really complete the look.
The belt I choose this time almost matches my skin perfectly. It look like I was showing some serious skin. For a strapless dress without boning (or a corset top) wearing a belt also provides support and keeps the dress up. Another modification from the last time I wore this dress was tucking in the piece of fabric on top and wearing my peacock necklace. Almost looks like it is a part of the dress.
A green dress like this cannot go wrong with dark browns and navy accessories.

Green Summer Dress

Green and White Striped Halter Dress Alice + Olivia | Beige Belt via Crossroads Trading Co. | Flats Steve Madden | Bag  Unknown | Turtle Ring Full TiltFortunate to have some summer weather this weekend!
Luckily I still have not packed away my summer dresses away yet, and this particular halter dress had been in my closet for awhile, unworn (and still new with tags).
I paired it with my white flats, and to give my body some shape I added the beige belt. The tote completed the look, and even though I went grocery shopping, I look like I could easily fit into a crowd at  farmer’s market. That, or going to a picnic!

Japanese Charm Necklace

Yellow Blazer Fendi | Black Bandage Skirt and Charm Necklace Forever 21 | White T-Shirt Rave | Ulltra Black Patent Pumps Steve MaddenI feel like a bumble bee in the trees!
I was inspired by a bumble bee (clearly) with the yellow, black, and white. I also felt like the blazer needed something to compliment it. Then came this necklace that is inspired by Japanese culture. I have yet to wear this necklace, but already it is one of my favorites! Next time I must pair it with my red obi style belt and a black dress!
Black and white make a perfect base to add a pop of color, which is why the blazer works well with this outfit. I like how I wore it in this photo and with another black and white pairing here. Same location for the photo too!

Feathers

Cream Blazer Silence+Noise | Feather Hair Clip, White Sweater Top, and Enamel Bangles Forever 21 | Cream Silk Fringe Postage Stamp Skirt Diane Von Furstenberg | Cream Heaven Flats Steve Madden
A complete 180 from yesterday’s all-black outfit.
The feather skirt is actually silk chiffon fringed by hand to resemble feathers. Despite the fact that it was not made from real feathers, I was shedding throughout the day (nooooo). Although I want to keep this skirt intact, if I wear it again anythime soon, I would pair the cream with black details for some contrast.
Hope you like my monochrome outfit!
