Lace Skirt

Speaking of experiments, I got my hair cut and am trying out the fringe bangs. I think it will take some time to get used to them (and learning how to style them), but so far I have received a positive response for them. If I really don’t like it I can always pin the short hairs back. It will grow back after all. 
This skirt is near and dear to my heart. I have had it since my first year at Cal, and it has served me well. In my Press tab you can see another way I wore the skirt, and it was what caught the original attention of Brittany from Work it, Berk. Take a look and see how different I looked as well! Feeling like I have grown up since then, and stopped wearing all black.
I love the other elements I mixed into today’s look as well. The J. Crew silk tank is a thrifted find and it had the original tags still attached!

I cannot get enough of the Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dresses! They just know how to hug ones body and emphasize a small waist! I am planning on going back to the pool and swimming more often, but its nice to know a wrap dress will only highlight your assets. 
Seeing as Fall is right around the corner and I am making a resolution to work out, I actually have updated my hair for the new season as well. The new do will be unveiled in tomorrow’s post, so stay tuned!

Red Skirt

There is something about red that is so alluring! I wanted to try something new, and I rarely (if ever) wear lip gloss/lip stick/ lip stains. I’m just no good when it comes to applying make-up. I think this color worked well for me.
My outfit was mistaken as a dress, but the red in the top goes so well with the skirt! This is one of my favorite outfits because it is cute and can work for a picnic, lunch, garden party, or even going to a flea market while riding a nice bike! Unfortunately I used it for work, but then again it brightened people’s day with all the color I bring to the office.
I realize I had to keep accessories minimal because of the bright lips and bright colors on my outfit. It made me wonder if I could pull of lip stick with something else. What would you wear lipstick with?

Gelato

I know this is a weird event to dress up for, but the title of the post does relate to my outfit (I promise!)
This morning one of my coworkers mentioned that my outfit reminded her of France, but then said maybe Italy as well. And I did point out that the dress had passport stamps and visas as the print. It made me feel like I should take this dress on one of my travels, whenever that happens.
But then it is strange how things connect during the day because I ended up eating gelato for my break, and the interior of the shop was black and white. I later found out it was because the shop used to be a See’s Candies shop, but it was cool seeing as I fit right in with the place. The tables and chairs were silver and it was like my whole outfit was translated into the space. Hence the title of this post!
I love this dress, and you might recognize it as a top I have, and that is because I loved the top so much I just had to have the dress. This was possible through eBay! Now to just avoid buying anything there for as long as possible….

Kate Spade Dress

The detail of the dress is stunning in person! It’s my first Kate Spade dress, and I found it at Crossroads Trading Co.. 
I had one of those days where I didn’t feel like wearing anything tight or restrictive. I wanted to dress girly, but still be comfortable. As I piled all my clothes onto my bed, I found this dress and realized I had not worn it since I bought it. It had reminded me of a dress Jackie O would wear with her pearls and chic sunglasses. I tried it on and felt comfortable. It made me question why I had not worn it sooner!
Next time I will wear it without the cardigan and with white (or red) heels. My hair will also be in a bun! Now if only I could get myself some Jackie O Ray Ban sunglasses, then that would definitely complete the look!
