It’s been more than a week since my last post, and in some ways I am glad for the brief break. On the other hand, I can’t believe I went that long without writing something. I was busy reviewing a resume of a friend of mine after work, which was in itself a struggle since work was really kicking my butt last week. I really did miss writing, but I at least wrote a guest post for another blog, and will share the link once it is up. My week was also busy towards the end last week since I hosted a Posh Party on Thursday (Fun and Fearless) and spent quite a bit of time going through all the comments and looking for Host Pick’s. I co-hosted this time with Jessica Flores, blogger at Domesticated Me. (You can shop both of our picks from the party along with those of the fabulous ladies from +Poshmark here.)
For today’s outfit, I decided to share a fun print Marc Jacobs dress. This is another one of my lucky finds from Crossroads Trading Co. I wore this outfit sometime last month and remember I had Thai food for lunch in Downtown Berkeley with a co-worker (the things I remember about my outfits…). I love the print and was inspired to wear it with the gold ring rented from +Rocksbox.Out of all the subscription services I’ve tried, this one has been my favorite so far. I rarely think of jewelry as something I need, so I have not kept my pieces up-to-date, but Rocksbox makes it easy to change up a look with a few simple pieces. I’ve also enjoyed trying things out that I normally wouldn’t buy for myself.
Hope you enjoyed today’s look, and until next time,Brandy| BLOGLOVIN | FACEBOOK |  INSTAGRAM |TUMBLR | TWITTER |

Last weekend I was away in Santa Barbara with my close friends from high school glamping at El Capitan Reservation. While it was only for a few days, I couldn’t wait to get dressed up for work on Tuesday! I wore this patriotic inspired outfit to cheer Team USA during their match against Belgium, but despite not winning, I am still pretty proud of our team. Maybe if I had worn some more sparkle with my Rocksbox necklace, we would have won.
My outfit was intended to be for a day at the office, especially with the trench coat, but it can easily transition for a night out thanks to the shape of the dress and fun sleeves. The dress is one a bought almost a year ago at a local shop called Rue Atelier. You can read more about that personal shopping trip here. Even though this purchase was from over a year ago, you can still snag this dress for almost 40% off at Neiman Marcus Last Call here. This is a very glam patriotic look, but it isn’t the only this dress can be worn. It is perfect for summer weddings and cocktail parties. While I love this look, it is not what I’ll be wearing as I attend a family get together later today. I am a big fan of sundresses and will be going for a sweet, laid-back look to enjoy all the yummy food and festivities. I hope I’ll be able to share a photo of today’s outfit too as long as I don’t get cupcake frosting all over it.
Hope you enjoy your day today and see plenty of fireworks!Brandy| BLOGLOVIN | FACEBOOK |  INSTAGRAM |TUMBLR | TWITTER |

Pink Lady

Pink Leather Jacket  Member’s Only | Beige Top Alice + Olivia | Skinny Jeans Forever 21 | Voyager Satchel JustFAB! | Spiked Adena Pink Loafers Sam Edelman | Ring Crush on CollegeAnother outfit featuring some pink, but this time it is a more casual look centered around a pink leather Member’s Only jacket I found on +Poshmark. The pink loafers are also a find from +Poshmark, and I knew when I bought the jacket that I’d have to wear the jacket with these shoes. They are my favorite and I ended up buying them in black too. Whenever I find something I really like, I like having multiple versions of it. It might be a lazy move, but if you know what you like and what works for you, why not just go for it? The jacket reminded me of what the Pink Ladies wore in the movie Grease, hence today’s post title.

I am going Glamping on Sunday, but before that I am also excited to share that POPSUGAR and Simple Skin Care are hosting a free wellness event at Justin Herman Plaza at the Embarcadero from 12:00pm-4:00pm this Saturday in San Francisco. The event is called POPSUGAR & Simple Skin Care’s: PASSPORT TO HEALTHY SKIN TOUR , and you can RSVP here. The best part is the event is free and guests get to take home goodie bags with free products. I know I’ll be there taking advantage of the healthy living activities like the de-stress massages and testing Simple’s skin care products. Hope to see you there!

Pink Bun

Black Blazer, Pink Silk Top and Black Pants Forever 21 | Hashtag Earrings Crossroads Trading Co. | Fold-over Cross body Harajuku | Gold Spiked Beatrix Flats Sam Edelman | Pen Necklace Kate Spade | Spike Ring Crush on CollegeEvery now and then I like to experiment with my hair style, which is why you’ll see me more often with straight hair. I like to try different up-do’s too and I finally tried the sock bun out using a Conair Bun Maker Kit. For my first time, I think it came out pretty well (and looks cute!)
I wanted a girly but professional look to go with the sock bun, so I decided to wear my silk pink top with gold and black detail and paired it with my thrifted blazer. I thought the two pieces would work not only because of the contrast of feminine and masculine pieces, but also because of the gold and black stripe details. I added gold accessories and flats to complete the look. I am loving my hashtag earrings and have worn them a lot in the past few months. They were a find from Crossroads Trading Co. and are now my favorite pair because they go with everything! And, as someone now involved with social media, are also kind of of funny to me.
Hope you are having a great week and see you next time!

Little White Dress

White Grecian Style Dress Alice + Olivia | Brown Belt Vintage | Nude Ruffle Satchel Steve Madden | Earrings Forever 21, Gold Peep-Toe Flats Christian Louboutin | Sunglasses Diane von Furstenberg
Now with my 40 Days of Blog Series behind us, and a short break, I am back sharing outfits which may or may not feature a DVF piece. I will hopefully be sharing a cupcake recipe soon too since I do bake every now and then. But for my latest post, I decided to share a look of mine from earlier last month that I wore during a heatwave we had in the Bay Area.

I love white dresses despite not owning a lot of them. I found this one at Crossroads and the pictures do not capture how pretty it is. I received a compliment from one of my coworkers that I looked like a Greek goddess with the draped detail in the front and with my gold flats. That compliment made my day! I think everyone admires white clothes but might be afraid to wear them for fear of getting them dirty and not being able to get them to be as white again. But I say, just do it! You’ll be glad you did.

I am hoping to get more wear out of this dress throughout the summer. I almost lost hope for my flats because the soles were completely worn down (and I almost slipped a few times because of that.) Luckily, I took them to a shoe repair shop and the soles look amazing! They now can be worn more often, so expect to see them a lot throughout the summer.

Hope you are having a good Monday and until next time,

40 Days of DVF: Day 40

Pleated Blazer Calvin Klein | Green Leopard Print New Julian Wrap Dress Diane von Furstenberg | Black Legacy Satchel c/o JustFAB! (Buy here) | Panda Charm Bracelet Betsey Johnson | Gold Pen Necklace Kate Spade | Patent Pigalle Heels Christian LouboutinHas it really been 40 days since I started this blog series? It is hard to believe, but I am so ecstatic (and a little sad) that we’ve reached the end.
Today’s post features a dress I’ve shared on the blog before, but it is actually a very special dress. It is the first +DVF dress I fell in love with. One summer I worked at Nordstrom temporarily for their Anniversary Sale, and spotted this dress in the Savvy department. I had heard of the DVF brand before and that the wrap dress was a style staple, but seeing it in the store hanging among other dresses made me want to be the type of woman who wore that dress. Since I was a college student at the time, I was in no position to buy this dress despite working two jobs that summer. I was also saving up to buy my Blue Manolo Blahnik Hangisi heels at the time for my graduation, so getting this dress was out of the question. Still, it was hard forgetting about this dress.
After that summer, I started my senior year and was able to graduate a semester early. I realized I needed a go-to interview outfit, and began browsing eBay for a classic wrap dress. I had bought 2 DVF dresses by then at Crossroads Trading Co., but this pattern was still on my mind. I was lucky that I actually found it at a much lower price. I bought the dress and wore it to an interview I had for a full-time position in the Savvy Department at Nordstrom 2 weeks after my graduation. Unfortunately I didn’t get that job, but when I look back I think that was a good thing. If I had landed that job I would not have ended up at the office I am at now. It started out as a temporary position, but a full-time position was listed and I wore this dress for my interview. I styled it differently from my first interview at Nordstrom, but that wasn’t the only thing that had changed. I was a lot more confident. Without realizing it, I had become the person I wanted to be when I was a student dreaming of wearing this dress. Much like Diane, I owe a lot to this wrap dress for being there me – for the good times and the bad. It helped me during a turning point in my life and has helped grow into the person I have wanted to be. I know I still have a lot of “growing up” to do, so I hope you’ll continue to remain on this journey with me, this dress and my evolving wardrobe.

Thank you for joining me with this blog series and a very special thanks to my talented photographer/partner, Armando for taking all the photos. While I can put outfits together, you are the one that captures them all and I love you for helping me chronicle this series and being the mastermind behind the lens.
On to the next adventure. Until next time,
