Changes are a coming! I have changed my blog around by adding past articles, and intend to add more samples of writing. Lately I have not had time to really write about my day, or the stories behind my clothes, and have only been able to post the photos of an outfit. It has been about 3 months since my first post, and I am very proud of the fact that I have been able to be consistent in terms of when I add a new post and made it a habit. While a lot of the things I started off with have changed, my goal has remained the same. I am trying to improve my writing, and share my personal style.
Today’s outfit is a little plain, and the coat is actually one thing my sister was letting go of during our spring cleaning. I immediately snatched it up knowing it would be a great basic that could go with many things. I love how it has just the right amount of volume, and the zipper detail by the pocket is kind of edgy. My favorite part of the outfit, however, is the umbrella. I like how Coach factory stores have umbrellas for like $30 and allow for one to own a bit of luxury at an affordable price (compared to their purses). The Coach purse I have on me is actually another item cleaned out of my mom’s closet, and all I could day is score! I will definitely be utilizing it with the coming spring weather. My own cleaning is still a work in progress, but I am also on a really tight budget in order to save up for a new camera, luggage, and travel money for the summer. I just have to be more creative with what I have, and very strict about what comes in my closet. And while it might sound daunting, that is actually a fun challenge I have eagerly accepted!

Easter Sunday

Every year for Easter while growing up, my parents would dress my sister and I in floral dresses and take our photos by wisteria plants. We lived in a house that had a huge backyard, and our easter egg hunts were very intense. But once I was in middle school, we moved, and were not able to take pictures by wisteria trees. Luckily we planted a tree and some bloomed. It is not as magnificent as the ones we used to have, and the backyard we have now is not as big, but the memories we made were just as important as the ones in the past. Wisteria’s are my favorite flower, and I am glad to bring back that tradition we had in our current home.

Leaves

Pink Print Flora Silk Top Diane Von Furstenberg | Raspberry Pink Cardigan, Black Skirt, and Leaves Pendant Necklace Forever 21 | Black Suede Booties Steve MaddenBy now one can probably note I have an obsession with Diane Von Furstenberg. I have so many tank tops, but the weather has not been cooperating with me in order to start showcasing my spring looks. It has not been appropriate for dresses and skirts without leggings or tights either, but it will be soon enough (I hope.)

The top was the inspiration for today, but it is too voluminous so tucking it in makes it work better for my body. The cardigan clearly matches the same shade as the feather print, and adding the boots makes the look more casual. Overall, I love this look and it could be perfect for warmer weather minus the boots and tights and opting in some cute flats instead.

White Leather Jacket

White Leather Jacket Be Hip! by Me Jane | Floral Print Top Sele | Black Pants, Pink Headband and Gold Flower Pendant Forever 21 (Necklace here) | Pink Suede Boots Steve MaddenToday’s post is pretty short. My Grandma was in the hospital, and coming down home after the concert was originally my plan. I wanted to dress in a way that would make my grandma cheerful when she saw me. I opted for pink (her favorite color) and also wanted to be comfortable. Spent most of my day there with her, and tomorrow plan to do the same before heading back to Berkeley. If I could request days off I would in a heart beat, but can’t skip out of work since I am on a Limited Appointment. She looked better when I left today, so we shall see if she is discharged tomorrow.

Boardwalk

Striped red and navy cardigan, gold anchor necklace, blue jeans Forever 21 | White flats Steve Madden | Wristlet Coach PoppySuch a fun-filled weekend!

I am very happy to be have been invited by my brother to spend the day at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with his family before I headed back up to my apartment in Berkeley. Today’s outfit was inspired by the fact that we would be spending our day at the Boardwalk. Most of my pieces are from Forever 21, but I’ve linked similar items to shop below. I love this navy and red cardigan and the tiny anchor details in the buttons.
We first played mini-golf in Neptune’s Kingdom. It was a close game in the beginning, but towards the end I kept missing the holes. My brother probably ended up winning, with my sister coming in second place. My niece and nephew had a great time playing against each other, and both managed to make a hole-in-one.
We walked around the boardwalk with the kids and grabbed some food and played games to win prizes. The kids only rode two rides since our focus was to come play mini-golf, and after eating some sweet potato fries decided to start our trip back to Berkeley. Before returning to our car, I took photos with the kids and my sister, but we did not all fit in the booth. It was a fail, but a funny fail. I had so much fun, and I was glad we were able to spend our day together. Perfect way to end the weekend, relaxed, before the start of another busy week.
