Pastel Trench

Pastel Trim Trench Forever 21 |  Black pants Forever 21 | Black Metallic Scarf Forever 21 (here) | Long Sleeve Black Tee Wet Seal | Black Patent Bow Flats Steve by Steve MaddenNext to Saturday, Friday is my second favorite day. It’s also okay to dress casual for work, but for some reason I didn’t quite pull that off this time around. I wore head-to-toe black, but added a pop of color to the outfit with my pale orange tench. One of my coworkers noted that the color of my trench reminded them of orange sherbet, which I find cute. References to ice cream is a positive thing to me, and I am glad I can make people smile because of what I am wearing.
This week started off a bit shaky, but now I am glad things are running smoothly. Sometimes I’ve had to fake that I know what I am doing by being overly confident, but I think it also helps to look put together. I am getting things done and next week should be a lot easier in terms of me now knowing more than I had when I first started working at the office.
As I got dressed today, I had to pick some items I would be okay with parting for awhile since I was going to be driving down to Salinas to visit my family. I have two closets, the one in my apartment and the one in my room back home. Whenever I feel I have worn a piece too often, or when the season starts changing, I decide to take it back home and pull out some other items to bring back with me to wear. I’m not sure if this trench will be staying back home, but Spring is a coming and I have most of my spring/summer clothes waiting to be worn in that closet. I actually have a lot of different methods for storing all my clothing and accessories in both places, so maybe I shall share my organization tips in a post one day to show how I have made it easier to find something to wear every morning.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Women’s Day

Floral Print Nissa Wrap Top Diane Von Furstenberg | Black Pants, Wing Cuff Bracelet Forever 21 | Over the Knee Black Heeled Boots Nine West |
I spent yesterday night baking cupcakes for my co-workers in honor of International Women’s Day. Today’s outfit was inspired by the floral print from the cupcake liners I used.
I received a bunch of compliments for my DVF floral print blouse. I found this wrap top on eBay at a steal. I love the print and the fit. I was trying to capture a strong, feminine look for today with a mix of florals and the black boots. I paired the floral print top with all black and a statement cuff from Forever 21.
This top is probably going to make a couple more appearances on the blog because of the fun print. I’ve been spending a lot of time browsing through eBay and watching all these amazing designer deals. Have you purchased anything amazing on the site? Let me know!

Silver and Gold

Two of my high school buddies came up to San Francisco from San Diego for the beginning of their spring break.
We met up at Pier 39 for some shopping and ate at the Hard Rock Cafe. For the first time, we all had fruity cocktails like the women from Sex and the City typically do. We all had our fill of laughter and good food. We then headed towards Japantown, and shopped around some more, took pictures in the Japanese photo booths, and ended the day with crepes. Okay, maybe everyone didn’t eat a crepe, but I cannot resist sweets. Speaking of which, we passed by the Cako cupcake store while in Japantown. I like how every cupcake flavor was displayed. I had satisfied my sweet tooth with a crepe, so no cupcake for me this time around.
We ended our day together by stopping by my apartment. I gave a tour of my humble abode and we hung out on the roof my building and watched the sun set. We created new memories together, and it felt like we had just seen each other the other day. Those are the best types of friendships, because no matter how much time passes, or how far away we are, we can laugh together and be there for each other.
Friends, fashion, and cupcakes; It is always a good time when those three things are combined.

I Love the 80’s

Ruffle Nylon Jacket, Black Pants, Bow Bracelets Forever 21 | Multi Color Striped Top Marc by Marc Jacobs (here) | Pink Suede Boots Steve Madden | Photos by Nicole S.While I live in in the Bay Area, I spend a weekend or two visiting my family home in the Central Coast. When I am in town, I like being able to meet up with friends I made back in high school to catch up on what we have been up to.

When meeting up with old friends,  it’s nice how time can fly by so quickly and feel like it’s stopped at the same time. Even if friends live far away and don’t get to talk as often as they did in high school, it’s nice to have the kind of friends that once you see again can fall back into the type of relationship you used to have, as if no time has passed since the last day you spoke. I am grateful for those friends and the memories we have made and will continue to make in the future.

My inspiration for today’s outfit was the 80s since the music I’ve been listening to has been from that decade. I found the colorful Marc by Marc Jacobs top at Crossroads Trading Co. and despite it being oversized, I love the colors and prints. I paired it with matching bow enamel bracelets I picked up at Forever 21. The bow details are especially cute and they are similar to ones by Kate Spade. The pink suede boots I picked out for today’s look were from Macy’s and were also on sale. This Steve Madden boot has sold out in stores and online, but I’ve linked a similar statement-making boot below.
What do you wear when you meetup with your friends at a coffee shop?

Shopping

Blue Trench Love 21 | Long Sleeve Gray Tee Wet Seal | Multi Chain Necklace Forever 21 | White Denim Jeans Vanilla Star | Grey Beatrix Spiked Flats Sam Edelman | Photo by Nicole S.So much happened this week and I am excited to share it with you! Since graduating I have been job hunting, and I never thought it’d be this hard finding a legitimate job. Luckily I managed to land a job at an office on campus that I used to work at while I was a student. I’m really excited to be starting there next week, especially because I’ll get to dress professionally (despite a really casual atmosphere hen it comes to the dress code.)
Today I went shopping, but not for myself. I cleaned out my closet and took some things to Crossroads Trading Co. I ended up getting the trade instead of the cash since they give you more in trade. I found a great Members Only Jacket today that I purchased for my boyfriend to give to him the next time I see him.
The white pants are back! I like that there are clothes in my closet that are stored for awhile and get “rediscovered” when I clean out my closet. If I switched the necklace for one I have that has an anchor and had a striped top, this outfit would also be quite nautical! I’m really digging that trend lately as you’ll see in upcoming posts.
What would you wear to go shopping in?

Preppy

Navy Sweater Button Down Top Forever 21 | White Denim Jeans Vanilla Star | Gold Metallic Peep-Toe Flats Christian Louboutin (here) | Graffiti Print Bag Coach PoppyFinally a post with my go-to bag! It’s a Coach bag from the Poppy collection. I use it all the time because I feel it goes with everything.

Today’s outfit has a nautical/ prep vibe going on especially because of the cardigan and button down shirt set. I went to brunch with my sweet boyfriend, and we tried a new diner on College Ave and Claremont called Claremont Diner. The food was pretty tasty and I ordered the french toast.

I lucked out with today’s weather. It had been raining, so I wasn’t sure I would be able to wear these white jeans. For me, white is kind of hard to wear, but I really like these jeans Even though I have a curvier bottom and style guides I reference recommend I avoid light colored pants, I feel these work for me because they are not too skinny and have a relaxed fit. While they currently have a preppy vibe, changing a few pieces could completely transform the look for the next time I go to brunch.
Shop the look below and let me know what you would wear to brunch!
