Valentine’s Day Dress

Red and Purple Printed Dress Tory Burch |  Belt Wet Seal | Textured Tights Betsey Johnson| Purple Suede Peep-toe Heels Steve MaddenHere is my Valentine’s Day outfit that I wore to work!
In most of my favorite magazines, I saw that coral and pink would be a hot combination for the season. This Tory Burch dress (coral red, pink, and purple) is a purchase from the first Crossroads pop up shopping event I went to. It was also one of fellow blogger Kathleen’s Inspirafashion picks. She definitely has great taste and I was lucky to snag this little number at the event especially because of the colors!
I love the color combo and the pattern. It is so form-fitting and is slightly sexy with the slit on the side. I like how no skin is exposed which offsets the slit and body hugging fabric. The dress came with its own belt in a matching print, but for a pop of red I added my own obi belt. I added more texture, and warmth, with the tights. I think this outfit also could work without the tights, so I am excited to wear this again already! I was also pretty excited to have found this purple bench for my photos to be taken by. It complimented the dress (and shoes) so well!
After this photo shoot,  my Valentine treated me to some yummy Japanese food. For dessert we had cupcakes seen from my last post (of course!) It was the perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day together especially because every year before one of us would always be working.
I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day with people that care for you! Thanks for reading!

Valentine’s Day Sweets

Happy Valentine’s Day! I made these treats for my coworkers and they turned out really cute!

I made classic chocolate cupcakes and topped them off with a chocolate ganache frosting with raspberry liqueur flavoring. I then melted red chocolate chips into a heart shape mold for the topping and added red sprinkles.

The rest were white chocolate cupcakes with simple vanilla frosting. I tinted some a light mint thanks to the inspiration of the paper liner. I melted pink chocolate into the same mold I used for the red hearts and added it for garnish.

Both cakes were really decadent. The chocolate raspberry ganache reminded people of truffles, exactly what I was aiming for. I chose the chocolate theme to remind people of a box of chocolates. Next year I might go further with that theme and place some mini cupcakes in brown liners inside a heart shaped box and decorate them like chocolates. As you can see there were a bunch of sweets at the office today and our conference room smelled really, really good!

Hopefully you had a sweet Valentine’s Day too! I’ll be sharing my outfit photo tomorrow so stay tuned. Thanks for reading!

I Heart Mice!

Caridgan, Belt, Skirt, Leggings and Necklace Forever 21| Black Shirt Wet Seal | Polka Dot Mice Flats Marc by Marc Jacobs |  Bossi Camera Bag THEIT
Happy Mardi Gras! Although I am not dressed for Mardi Gras, I am showing my holiday spirit for Valentines Day with my heart-print cardigan. I had it kept in a pile of clothes that I was undecided about keeping. I had not worn this in awhile, but today it seemed to fit perfectly with my all black ensemble and flats. This cardigan is definitely a keeper.
I am in love with my Polka Dot Mark by Marc Jacobs Mice Flats! Aren’t they cute? They make you squeal  “Eeek, Mice!” with excitement! My female coworkers loved them, and initially the guys mistook them for cows, but then found them cool. I found these little guys at the Chictopia Shop It Like Its Hot event in the Crossroads section. I was so lucky to find them in my size! It also amazes me how well they go with the cardigan. I added the patent bow belt and teddy bear necklace to play up the cute vibe the flats and heart-print cardigan gave off.
This afternoon I returned the initial garment rack I purchased from Bed, Bath and Beyond over the weekend and decided to buy some ingredients for the Valentines Day cupcakes I plan on baking tomorrow while I was out. I will be making some dark chocolate and white chocolate cupcakes and attempting to make a chocolate ganache as the frosting. The ganache will have a hint of raspberry liqueur. Valentine’s Day would not be complete without sweets, so stay tuned for that post on Friday!

Floral Tunic

Floral Wrap Tunic Diane Von Furstenberg | Bangles and Pink Headband Forever 21 | Black Leggings H&M |  Suede Overpas Boots Steve Madden |  Black Bossi Quilted Bag THEITI have finally outgrown my closet, and these past two days I have spent it looking aimlessly for the perfect garment rack that could fit by my entry way and hold the clothes that I need to sell on Poshmark or at Crossroads Trading Co. Being able to see the clothes would help me post things more frequently so I could empty out my apartment of excess stuff. Eventually I would like to use the garment rack to hang outfits so if I can’t figure out what to wear I have some options available. If I could, I would decorate my room with the central focus being on my clothes. The trouble is it is hard to find a garment rack that is both stylish and functional. Most are too commercial and the steel bars just clash with the rest of my apartment. Also, my apartment is very small, so it would need to be durable. If any of you have storage tips for your extra clothes I would greatly appreciate them!
Today I dressed casual and opted for a tunic with a floral print. I love anything DVF, and this wrap tunic/dress has one of my favorite prints! I found the bracelets a couple of weeks ago at Forever 21. I bought 2 sets multi-color bangles, and pulled out the colors of each set that would go with my outfit. I really like them and they will be perfect to pair with other bracelets based on my outfit.
Hope you had a great weekend and ready for another fun week!

My First Year

One year ago today, I uploaded my first post. To celebrate, here is a recap of all my favorite outfits from my first year of blogging and photos of the most creative cupcakes I have made.

When I reflect on my first year of blogging, I am surprised how much I and my blog have changed in just one year. I went from no-bangs to bangs, casual part-timer to full-time working girl, and changed the blog title from “What to Wear with Pandy” to “Will Bake for Shoes”. I’ve met some great people, attended shopping/fashion events, purchased my own domain name and started taking cupcake orders for clients on the side.
I’ve learned a lot, had my breakdowns due to frustration with HTML or my photographer, and days where I was not dressed my best. I’ve learned a lot about myself was I refine my personal style, and pushing the envelope when it comes to being creative by taking risks. I have also learned how important it is to communicate with your partner/photographer and to be patient. I would like to thank my photographers: my sister Nicole, friends Jessica, Jason, Bernadette, Vivian and most importantly, my boyfriend Armando. I appreciate all of these people’s patience and for their help with this blog.
Most importantly I am grateful. Grateful that I have had you, reader, as someone who supports my love of decorating cupcakes and checking in on what I am wearing everyday. I am thankful you are a follower, regardless of how long you’ve been part of  my blog, and I hope, like me, you are excited to see the what comes with year two!

Snap Dress

Black Cardigan, Silver Cuff, Stacked Rings Forever 21, Navy and Black Snap A-Line Dress Zac Posen for Target,  Patterned Tights Chinese Laundry, Bag THEIT, Navy Suede Ulltra Pumps Steve MaddenNavy and Black again! This time I was able to take my photos before the sun set on me!
This dress is simply the best! Great shape, great fit, and great detail! I missed out on Zac Posen’s collection when it initially launched at Target, and I would see this dress on eBay for around $50 and up. With my college budget, I wasn’t about to add it to my closet. Then fate intervened, and right before I left Buffalo Exchange empty handed, I checked out the dresses and, and lo and behold, there it was. Hanging in my size new with tags for less than $20 – it was meant to be!
So if you ever miss out on a piece you’ve been eyeing but can’t splurge at the moment, have patience. Good things will surely come your way if you do. Especially if you miss out the exciting pieces from Prabal Gurung’s latest collaboration with Target! Something to look forward to on Valentine’s Day. Will you be picking up any of those pieces next week? Brandy| BLOGLOVIN | FACEBOOK |  INSTAGRAM |TUMBLR | TWITTER |
